BBC report on E3 Nintendo performance

"Nintendo's conference was like a retirement home for classic game developers as Toru Iwatani, the brains behind Pac-Man, played on-stage against Mario wunderkind, Shigeru Miyamoto, who is currently working on an all-new Pac-Man title.

Refreshingly self-critical, the assembled masses were told of the mistakes the big N made with marketing the GameCube, and the difficulty the traditionally family-orientated company was having in appealing to modern, gore-obsessed players.

But their president, Satoru Iwata, in a nod to the Grand Theft Auto series, assured Nintendo-philes: "You won't see Mario shoot a hooker".

And while we were assured the GameCube had a rosy future, its successor is already officially in development."

*chuckles*

“Iwata admitted that some of Nintendo's earlier efforts have not been sufficient--such as how, in the first half of last year, the company did not release enough exclusive titles--and that games such as Super Mario Sunshine and Metroid Prime did not live up to expectations”

“He acknowledged some of the specific challenges facing the company: developing better graphics for its games, creating games with a higher level of challenge, and creating games with "edgier" material. “

Gamespot report on E3 coverage.
And Tiltawhirl, if you deem it ok to post crap in the Xbox forums then I shall come here and bait you monkeys.
And it's not financial reports.
It's the Nintendo President acknowledging, read it sloooowly and try not moving your lips, that they did not do well last year.
And the CEO admitting that Metroid Prime did not live up to expectations?
Seems like a kick in the teeth eh?

Again, for the cheap seats, not my words by those of Iwata-San.
Who knows a lot more about his own company than you or me.

Errrrr it seems to be you who can't read, no-one questioned Nintendo's situation in the market. They said that Nintendo are taking gradual steps in the right directions and when it comes to games, Cube has a very solid line-up.

If anyone's acting like a fanboy, me thinks you should be looking closer to home. DO you see any of us go and post in the XBox forum when the sales aren't doing too well?

No, because there's no point and it just annoys people. You have no intrest in the Gamecube, you've already shown that through your "Gaycube's for tards" posts, so why come in here and post financial reports?

You foaming tards seem to not read.

The comments about not reaching a wider audience of gamers and the lack of titles came from?
Not a BBC Journalist but from Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo.
Go and find the full E3 report from Nintendo instead of applying your obviously extensive business knowledge to the company you own...sorry, I meant instead of applying your obviously extensive business knowledge to a console your parents bought for you.

I'll take the word of Nintendo CEO over a few fanboys if you dont mind.

The BBC once again showing how retarded their games journalists are.

How they can mistake a big balding American called George Harrison for Satoru Iwata is anyone's guess.

Maybe they have no idea what they're talking about and didn't even see the press conference?

E3 was terrible. Glad I chose to go next year.

Anyways, Nintendo had the best gaming show. Which is what it was all about?

We had Sony telling us they were the future, even though their games were pure crap.

We had Microsoft showing us videos of a few games which will be better on the PC.

Nintendo were displaying games.

Gaming.

I don't think E3 was that poor. MGS3, Gran Turismo 4, Halo 2, Half-Life 2 all looked great.
Of everyone I think Nintendo had the better show. Sure, the didn't have the flashy "killer app" like Halo 2, Gran Turismo 4 or Half-Life 2, but Mario Kart, Final Fantasy, F-Zero, Resident Evil 4 and The Twin Snakes are no slackers.

I seem to remember the same ill-informed statement a few months ago. *shakes head*
