most of x-boxs big games seem to be shooters.... if it stil worth buyin a console jst fgor the likes of jet set, ssx and the like?
dvd playback is a big feature as tat will be used jst as much.... i was wondering wat is the quality like?? has anyone had any problems?
thanks
I completely agree with Tiltawhirl, its in my eyes a poor console. It came in, with poorer games than the DC (for a long time) and wiped the floor with it- based on people prejudies that PS2s were the newest and greatest thing.
Shenmue 1 + 2, Jet Set Radio, MSR. Those 4 games IMO are better than anything available on the PS2.
I decided to get another console the other week, it was a choice out of Xbox and PS2. It took me about 5 minutes to decide, i looked at the PS2 and there wasn't a single real reason for me to buy the console. There's a few games that i'd like to play but they certainly wouldn't make me want to actually buy the console.
It's a really, really bad console IMO.
(my opinion by the way)
PS2 = Medicore titles, only around 4 worth owning.
Dreamcast = Loads of excellent quality titles, MSR, Shenmue, Power Stone ect All seem to have that "thing" you want from gaming.

So would I.
There where plenty of brilliant games on Cast, they never really had enough longetivity though.
which is why if he is a real SEGA faithfull XBOX would
> be the one to go for. It also has a lot of SEGA games.
Yes but a lot of them are compete tosh.
Only one's that really stick out as being worth buying are Jet Set Radio, Shenmue 2, Panzer Dragoon, Phantasy Star Online 1+2, Sonic Heroes...and a few others, the names of which I forget.
Strong line-up but certainly not as large as you're trying to make out.
Where as Gamecube has
Skies of Arcadia Legends (Exclusive), Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (exclusive), Sonic Adventure DX (exclusive), Sonic Mega Collection (exclusive), Super Monkey Ball (Exclusive), Beach Spikers (Exclusive), Super Monkey Ball 2 (exclusive), Phantasy Star Online 1+2, Phantasy Star Online Episode 3 (Exclusive), F-Zero, Billy Hatcher (exclusive)
I'm sure there are a few Sega games that i've missed out from the Xbox, but still, the Gamecube line-up is still very strong.
Oh and I haven't listed Sega Sports games becuase Ican't be bothered, does anyone actually buy those thing? haven't names Crazy Taxi games because they're rubbish, the same goes for Toe jam and Earl and House of the Dead 3.
The day Crazy Taxi was released, likewise Shenmue, Soul Calibur, JSR, Rez - those were exciting days.
I'd rather own a Dreamcast then a PS2.
> The Dreamcast was anything but awful. You didn't own one I take it?
> You didn't realise how ahead of its time it was?
I wouldn't say awful, it had too many arcadey games earlier on. My n64 had 1000 times more lifespan in its games. as a result I bought 120 n64 games in comparisin to 10 DC games. Even quake 3 and unreal finished too quickly.
That said i'd rather chuck my ps1 than my DC. All my 7 ps1 games are terrible.
