i kno this has been covered many times... but im thinkin of buyin an x-box... im not a gr8 fan of shooting or huge adventure games ... im more of a casual gamer and into sports, racings, beat-em ups, platfomers and quirky games... i get far to easily frustrated and in truth im not the best of gamers
most of x-boxs big games seem to be shooters.... if it stil worth buyin a console jst fgor the likes of jet set, ssx and the like?
dvd playback is a big feature as tat will be used jst as much.... i was wondering wat is the quality like?? has anyone had any problems?

The DC completely outclassed the PS2 for ages after the PS2 was released. The first really "must Have" game for PS2 came out nearly a year aftert he launch date. That game was GT3, and its a yawn fest.
I completely agree with Tiltawhirl, its in my eyes a poor console. It came in, with poorer games than the DC (for a long time) and wiped the floor with it- based on people prejudies that PS2s were the newest and greatest thing.

Put simply
Shenmue 1 + 2, Jet Set Radio, MSR. Those 4 games IMO are better than anything available on the PS2.
I decided to get another console the other week, it was a choice out of Xbox and PS2. It took me about 5 minutes to decide, i looked at the PS2 and there wasn't a single real reason for me to buy the console. There's a few games that i'd like to play but they certainly wouldn't make me want to actually buy the console.

Mav the Dreamcast can't even compete with the PS2 because the Dreamcast wins every time. When I have the time tomorrow I will explain why I think this way.

PS2 = Medicore titles, only around 4 worth owning.
Dreamcast = Loads of excellent quality titles, MSR, Shenmue, Power Stone ect All seem to have that "thing" you want from gaming.

How someone would rather own a Dreamcast than a PS2 is beyond me. Would anyone care to put forward their argument properly?

There where plenty of brilliant games on Cast, they never really had enough longetivity though.

Yes but a lot of them are compete tosh.

Strong line-up but certainly not as large as you're trying to make out.

For me, the Dreamcast was a superb console.
The day Crazy Taxi was released, likewise Shenmue, Soul Calibur, JSR, Rez - those were exciting days.

The Dreamcast was one brilliant console, over-shadowed by the anticipation of the Sony Playstation 2. It had quite a few amazing titles that were shamefully ignored by the gaming public.
I'd rather own a Dreamcast then a PS2.
