"We need a website"

Right. The web design forum here needs a website, for posting all sorts of advice, links, news etc. A "community" website. It should be interactive and fully display the best of our skills. So:

Coding - Me, cjh and ajh. Basically anyone who can.

Site design and layout - Reaper and Tyla. You guys work together on it. Give me a final layout as a Fireworks file and I'll take it from there

Content - Andy/Bob, and everyone else here

We need some webspace, I'll get some at Freedom2Surf once their servers come back online. They're a very good server for what we want to do. If anyone else wants to help out, that's great.

Any more suggestions would be welcome.

Mmmm... don't like it. It's unreadable, bad colour scheme and looks awefull on 256. Try something clean and simple. As for frames... DONT!! Please DON'T!! Frames are bad very bad, bad usability, a nightmare for bookmarking and maintenance...

If you can give me till tomorrow, I can rack up a couple of designs... I'll have a chat to SlaveUnit too..

Oh, and I know some people here don't like using Frames, but I kinda like them (if used right). So, are we gonna use frames or not?

It's nice, but I think the Text needs to be a little clearer.

Dont like the text..... Quite difficult to read....

Not sure about the light blue on grey either.....

That reminds me, we really need a design. Here's one I made earlier. It's very preliminary because I wanted feedback before I progress. I think we should use steel, greys and something close to the shade of blue in my design. So, if anyone has any idea, they're welcome. Also, if anyone wants to knock anything else up that would also be great. We all need a design we can agree on.

It's a png file at the moment, if you can't open it then get something like ACDsee32.

I'll gladly do some images, layout etc, I'm generally more in to design than the coding..

Once it's actually up, I'm with Andi, hardware stuffs mainly, although I tend to write about whatever's going through my head at the time, so could be some other area.

HTML, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, CSS, Design and Layout, webdesigning in general. I'll also manage a few projects such as "Building an online shop in PHP".

If this idea is ever carried out on Freeola, could I help somehow, urbonutter.

Can you beleive there are people who pay that???
