Right. The web design forum here needs a website, for posting all sorts of advice, links, news etc. A "community" website. It should be interactive and fully display the best of our skills. So:

Coding - Me, cjh and ajh. Basically anyone who can.

Site design and layout - Reaper and Tyla. You guys work together on it. Give me a final layout as a Fireworks file and I'll take it from there

Content - Andy/Bob, and everyone else here

We need some webspace, I'll get some at Freedom2Surf once their servers come back online. They're a very good server for what we want to do. If anyone else wants to help out, that's great.

Any more suggestions would be welcome.

Yeah. So, if someone came along with a problem and we solved it, we'd put the answer on the website. Then, if someone came along with the same problem, we'd just refer them to the website.

So instead of people asking here about the sme type of thing ... wheres a Script for a Guestbook, Mail, mySQL etc ... we can put all these kind of details in one place, for others to be able to look for what they need there, and (fingers crossed) with us recommending the best ones.

I think it would also be handy if Bob could put a link to it somewhere on this Forum...

It won't be like here, there'll be no forum, but it WILL have links, tutorials, information, etc. It will be a website that this community contributes to.

i can help out with the coding. i am going away tomoro though, and although i will still have internet access, i will not be able to do any web design. i can do html, css, javascript, and some php (they're my best).

i havent got much in terms of software packages, and i cant do flash. but i dont mind giving a hand with content, just so long as there isnt too much (GCSE coursework atm)!!!

I had this very idea earlier...although surely if we moved the community away from here, SR would lose users (this board is the only reason I come here at the moment anyway), so I don't know if they'd support us in doing it..
