I truly don't like first person shooter frag fests - running around in circles blasting, blasting, blasting - gives me a headache.
I'm not that bothered about racing cars around circuits and coming first, coming last, whatever.
So I'm not interested. Should I be? Am I missing out?
Do I have a blinkered view of the whole online gaming thing?
I don't think I'll ever sign up. Maybe a massive online RPG will sway me like Star Wars Galaxies....? - but it probably won't.
Shooting and racing - that's all I see, and that's not enough to get me interested.
I can't see what's so amazing about it, though.
Far better to make a decent RPG for offline play.
If we did pay the regulatory £8 a month, then these people wouldn't be able to do their jobs, and we'd get a much lesser gaming experience - something along the lines of Phantasy Star Online, I expect. I assume they need a team of people to keep each server fresh and exciting, as well as keeping it going, so I'm not fussed about a small, £8 charge.
Say you signed up for a year, that'd be $143.99. Converted to £88.66.
88.66 / 12 = £7.39 a month.
No doubt they'll make that up to £8 a month for dedicated subscribers. End of the day, that isn't too bad really, is it?
