So I created a new one, for those that didn't throw it against the wall months ago.

I thought we could start up some kind of small forum league, featuring the best five scores for each chapter and a total. Something like this:

Chapter One:
1. Blank: 89 000 000 000 000
2. Valentino Rossi: 1
3. Whitestripes: 0
4. Cookie Monster: No score low enough
5. Someone else with a vague interest: Even lower.

Only there probably aren't enough people willing. But anyway, we need a new Ikaruga thread, so here it is. My chapter one highscore is now 3.5 million, 113 chain, if anyone cares.

They don't have it on their database? I reviewed it myself not long ago. So that probably means my review is gone forever. Dammit.

Anyway, it's very good. Certainly a challenge, if that's what you're looking for. Actually involves some strategy rather than blasting everything, and requires some thought.

Ikaruga, how good is it?

I've been considering getting this for a little while now because it looks like a really good game that provides a brilliant challenge, I've heard that even just getting past level 4 is pretty tough. Considering that SR don't have it on their database though I can't read any of your reviews, so any opinions on it will be appreciated.

Thank you.

I know. But what I'm saying is, even with only a 78 max chain, it's still possible to achieve over three and a half million (the score I got). I was wrong when I said the other chain would be in the fifties, it would have been forties or lower I suspect.

And if anyone's interested, it takes 3.4 mil to get S++ on chapter one. Chapter two is a lot higher, because 3.4 only gets you an A rank.

Think I'm right in saying ranking is based purely on score, has nothing to do with number of chains.

"A" rank seems to be the best I can get in chapter two, but then again the only practice I get on that is when I'm satisfied with a chapter one score in challenge mode.

And amazingly, I've had an S++ rank with only 78 max chain. Hmm mm. But I did break my chain then pick it back up again, so it's more likely to be one chain of 78 and then another of 50 something, but it can be done nevertheless.

Don't bother playing in slow motion, it's nothing like as hard. Play in full speed all the time and you'll be a lot better at it.

I got 124 chain on chapter one today for the first time. I've had it sorted in theory for a while, but I actually pulled it off this time. 3.88 mil on that chapter in total.

Yeah i know the pattern to destroy them, its just i always hit the bottom white ship on the left hand side when going for the second row of blacks, i can do it no problem in slow motion, but the ships seems stronger in normal mode.

:(
