So I created a new one, for those that didn't throw it against the wall months ago.

I thought we could start up some kind of small forum league, featuring the best five scores for each chapter and a total. Something like this:

Chapter One:
1. Blank: 89 000 000 000 000
2. Valentino Rossi: 1
3. Whitestripes: 0
4. Cookie Monster: No score low enough
5. Someone else with a vague interest: Even lower.

Only there probably aren't enough people willing. But anyway, we need a new Ikaruga thread, so here it is. My chapter one highscore is now 3.5 million, 113 chain, if anyone cares.

Go into a gamestation shop. They usually have one kicking around for about £20. You can get a cartridge that plugs into the mem port on the top of the Saturn that unlocks all games. If you're really lucky, you can manage to find both a memory cartridge AND a multiregion unlocker, all built in to one cartridge.

Ebay usually has fairly cheap Saturns. It's not the console that'll cost you much - it's the games.

I went a bit retro 4 months ago and bought a mint rubber keyed Spectrum and over 200 original cassette games off ebay, great gaming for a cheap price (Manic Miner, Chuckie Egg, Atic Atac, Jet Pac, Commando to name a few), I have never owned a Saturn and may have to get one, have you looked at the Saturn games on www.telegames.co.uk or www.anotherworld.co.uk, prices are so so high.

What's the region protection with the Saturn ?, can you buy the equivalent of Freeloader or something ?

I've got all the best Saturn shooters around. A while ago I decided to get a decent retro system and I chose the Saturn. Then I spent ages getting all the great games for it. There are still a few that I need but I've got some unbelievably great games. Panzer Dragoon saga is one of the finest games you'll ever play - much better than the Wind Waker.

RS cost me around £100. I thought it was a bargain at that price. Some people sell it for nearly £150. It's in mint condition, no scratches.

I'm the same as you, no free time it seems, where did you get RS and how much did it cost ?, they go for at least £80 on fleabay, plus I haven't got a Saturn, but I do have 5 amazing RS downloaded videos at home, they've got to be seen by any shoot em up fan, will be uploading some onto my site tonight, chapter 4 goes on for 24 minutes !

Yes. I have Radiant silvergun for my Saturn.

It cost a bomb but it was worth it.

Conversly, I have Ikaruga but I've hardly played it. These days I just don't have enough time.
