"Today at the SEGA event in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, we had a litte chat with Atari. Atari representatives were at the event because Atari distributes the SEGA titles in the Benelux. Unfortunately, Atari brought us some bad news.
Some of you may have already heard of these Cube cancellations. Today Atari confirmed the rumours...
Mission Impossible: Operation Surma, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, and Driver 3 will not be released for the Nintendo GameCube.
Fortunately, Atari said we will probably see the sequel to Dragonball Z: Budokai on the Nintendo GameCube. And the following titles are also still on for a release on the GameCube: XGRA, The Powerpuff Girls, Beyblade, Dexter's Laboratory, Carmen San Diego, Kero Kero King, and Digimon Rumble Arena 2. "
So we loose the games that would have sold and we're left with kiddy crap like Dexters Laboratory and The Powerpuff girls.
WTF?
No wonder Cube gets labelled as a kiddy machine when developers treat it like this.
Manhunt and Pro Evolution 3 are my top gamblers for the PS2. Can't wait to play either.
But they failed.
Christmas 2002 Nintendo's Gamecube is a couple of hundred systems from the PS2 in a weekly sales chart.
September 2003 Nintendo's Gamecube overtakes sony for just one week.
This is VERY WORRYING.
Microsoft are the number 2 selling console in the west and their sales are going up faster than Sony's e.g.
Week 1: Microsoft 2 consoles Sony: 18 consoles
week 2: Microsoft 5 consoles Sony: 19 consoles.
> still sell more units than something of higher quality from a better

Just remember that in time... Microsoft will destroy Sony.
Thats the point I am making. Sony can do fack all with something yet still sell more units than something of higher quality from a better developer/producer.
> So the 70 million quickly goes back to 69 million as a total? That
> figure doesn't change and no one will catch it.
That's overall my friend... when the next round comes you'll see the sales split a little more. And ignoring the fact that Sony aren't making as much profit as you think.
> Dringo do you seriously think Twin Snakes will shift more units than
> Metal Gear 3? Of come on thats hilarious.
*Dringo reads his post* doesn't look like i said that no and no I don't think it either.
Just because it doesn't sell AS well doesn't mean it won't sell well.
Do you honestly expect Konami to say "Well Twin Snakes made a bomb and hit high in the charts making more money than it cost to make... but it didn't sell as well as MGS2 on the PS2 so stuff the potential money making idea by making it multiformat".
Come on that's hilarious.
Dringo do you seriously think Twin Snakes will shift more units than Metal Gear 3? Of come on thats hilarious. One giant title for Nintendo just becomes another massive selling game for Sony. Regardless of the quality of the title the PS2 installment will shift more units and more consoles.
Sony have lost GTA, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, final fantasy etc...
These games have all reached number 1 for Sony in the past.
> So sales figures are going to start going backwards then?
Yes, thats what tends to happen when people dont buy stuff...
