"Today at the SEGA event in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, we had a litte chat with Atari. Atari representatives were at the event because Atari distributes the SEGA titles in the Benelux. Unfortunately, Atari brought us some bad news.
Some of you may have already heard of these Cube cancellations. Today Atari confirmed the rumours...
Mission Impossible: Operation Surma, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, and Driver 3 will not be released for the Nintendo GameCube.
Fortunately, Atari said we will probably see the sequel to Dragonball Z: Budokai on the Nintendo GameCube. And the following titles are also still on for a release on the GameCube: XGRA, The Powerpuff Girls, Beyblade, Dexter's Laboratory, Carmen San Diego, Kero Kero King, and Digimon Rumble Arena 2. "
So we loose the games that would have sold and we're left with kiddy crap like Dexters Laboratory and The Powerpuff girls.
WTF?
No wonder Cube gets labelled as a kiddy machine when developers treat it like this.
Designers: "You're wanting to eliminate the entire game, Mr. Miyamoto?"
Imagine the selling power of these series - Final Fantasy, Halo, Resident Evil, Fable, Zelda, Mario, Metroid, GTA etc etc etc.....
+ Online stuff by MS and just the best games ever by Nintendo.

Heh. Way to see the big picture. :P
Shame it'll never happen.
Nintendo will have a re-branding and the GC2 (or what ever it's called) will sell well.
If both Microsoft and Nintendo's consoles come out earlier than the PS3 AND they have good marketing campaigns then I think we could see a very substantial piece of Sony territory being carved up between Microsoft and Nintendo.
Currently it appears Sony are banking on having the most powerful console selling the units. This might slowly work but if people already own Xbox 2 and GC2 machines Sony might become a victim of what they started: Heavyweight marketing in the games industry.
However the current Microsoft and Nintendo machines have a higher average of quality games than the PS2 so if the PS3 fills up with crap like it's predecessors this may put off potential buyers even further.
In a bizzarre twist of fate the PS3 might become the hardcore gamer's console of choice if it comes to late to the party and is forced to take a 'quality over quantity' stance whilst being the most powerful of the three.

These 2 things are, confessingly, the release of the Zelda bonus disc and Tales of Symphonia... but Nintendo would never have dreamed of it previously.
