Taken from cube-europe.com

"Today at the SEGA event in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, we had a litte chat with Atari. Atari representatives were at the event because Atari distributes the SEGA titles in the Benelux. Unfortunately, Atari brought us some bad news.

Some of you may have already heard of these Cube cancellations. Today Atari confirmed the rumours...

Mission Impossible: Operation Surma, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, and Driver 3 will not be released for the Nintendo GameCube.

Fortunately, Atari said we will probably see the sequel to Dragonball Z: Budokai on the Nintendo GameCube. And the following titles are also still on for a release on the GameCube: XGRA, The Powerpuff Girls, Beyblade, Dexter's Laboratory, Carmen San Diego, Kero Kero King, and Digimon Rumble Arena 2. "

So we loose the games that would have sold and we're left with kiddy crap like Dexters Laboratory and The Powerpuff girls.

WTF?

No wonder Cube gets labelled as a kiddy machine when developers treat it like this.

4) Die Hard Vendetta (Xbox version)
5) I haven't played it but some say Mission:Impossible on the N64 was damn good.

Thats your opinion... i thought Driver 1 on the PC was pretty good.

> 2) Games based on films are always crap

Lord of the Rings - The two Towers (on GC) is actually pretty good but in the most part you are correct.

But it's third party gold. They are totally revamping Driver 3 to break it away from the previous ones.
Has anyone seen the screens for Killer 7 on C-E?

Points to note:

1) The Driver games are crap

2) Games based on films are always crap

3) Games using a film as a basis but are really completely unrelated are always crap.

So what are we whinging about here? Atari aren't making some crap games for GC, but they're happy to make them for PS2 and XBOX?

I think I may cry...

I expect it means they needed to put the GC team to work on the PS2 version since the PS2 is supposed to be a pig to program games for.

"We need to correct the information on MI and confirm that it is being developed for GC. With regard to T3 and Driver 3, we made the change due to development time constraints. With T3, the game needs to launch with the DVD and there simply wasn't time to develop the game for the platform. With Driver 3, our primary goal is to ensure that this game is the highest quality possible and therefore, we are focusing our efforts on our lead SKUs (PS2 and Xbox)."

From C-E, the official press release.

Riiighhtt........so highest quality possible indicates PS2 over GC? WTF?!! again.

T3 is a film tie-in, so constraints appear there. Lazy goddamn developers!
