Anyone getting this? I've had it on pre-order from Amazon for a while, and they shipped it this morning. The original game was outstanding, and the Cataclysm standalone was very enjoyable. The shots of this game look awesome, and from what I hear, much of the basic gameplay remains unchanged, which is good, because it rocked.

Maggots. The key on vs PCU skirmish is to not waste resources building smaller ships. Fly up the tech tree and start producing destroyers and battle cruisers.

On a campaign mission that happened.

Scraped a win, until several missile frigates appeared from nowhere and ruined the party.

i'm actually having a really hard time beating the CPU players - even on EASY!

the thing is, i seem to be owning, capture another player's MS, and wipe out a player, then out of nowhere a swarm of destroyers and frigates swoop down and just crunch everything.

the game just falls apart when the resources close to home run out, even on full RU multiplier...

No, its actually a key to some larger system, and hence is armed but doesn't really do much else.

Battlecruisers are actually probably more useful.

Does it have any systems, or production capabilities, or fighter/corvette bays?

Yeah, its pretty good, but the game is so well balanced you have to protect it, like anything else.

It can take anything on in a straight fight, but if its ever so slightly outnumbered by heavier ships, backup is needed.

That's why I haven't come across it yet then. Haven't played the campaign missions for a while.

The giant progenitor dreadnaught with mega laser thing?

You salvage it from part of a giant Progenitor machine.

Dreadnaught?

I've come across no dreadnaught in multiplayer. Is it anything like the namesake in HW: Cataclysm?

On mission 11 or 12. One with loads of enemy battlcruisers and the comman post with that admiral on it.

Rocks, as does my mega uber fleet of destroyers, battlecruisers, bombers and the lethal dreadnaught.
