"How fantastic is skies of Arcadia?"

Despite naff graphics I am loving this Skies game. Picked it up along with 3 other games (see my £50 in cambridge thread) for a mere £19 and I can't imagine a closer RPG alternative to Zelda. Vast, expansive, encourages exploration and a deep story. In fact as storylines go it moves at a far faster pace than that Wind Waker game.

Great game, feels a bit like Starfox to play (not quite sure why) but of course i mean that in a good way.

If you can find it buy it. You won't regret it. Roll on Skies 2.

First time I finished it, they got 12sp per round.

Sucky.

At least my 2nd time has gone unbelievably better.

Well, now I'm really annoyed. Been levelling up more - must have gone up at least 15 levels between everyone, and my starting SP is still at 13.

quite, but what about Aika's 12sp attack? Isn't that good enough or not?

In the last 3 days I've played Skies for 20 hours.
How very sad.

But I'm nearing the end now, just a few bits and bobs to do.
Levelling up a lot right now (in Looper land). When the battle starts I've got 13 SP, and you need 14 to do Rain of Swords straight away.
Which is kinda annoying.

I got about 3 moonfish to find, 1 abrik cham, 3 or 4 chams, and i don't care about discoveries now i've got more than 30 for my crew member Domingo.

Heh. The first time I played through the game I got half way before feeding cupil any of my chams, first took moonfish to the doc after my 5th crystal, didn't use any captain's stripes and missed half the side quest things.

I probably have a lot yet to learn :^)

Woo - Enrique's last S-Move is pretty decent.. 16 SP and takes a good 3-4,000 off.

Now I've got to get:
1 more discovery
2 more moonfish
4 more chams
1 more crew member,
1 more moon crystal,
1 more S-Move,
1 more big monster ship-battle,
3 more bounties,
1 more Piastol fight

And some more stuff, I'm sure.

That's with the crap little jack ship, wait until you get the Delphinus ship later on... a whole different ball park.

You think?

All I've seen is telling people to fire, or making "evasive manouvers" because I lack the points to fire, and then the ships prance about each other for 30 seconds before actually carrying out those commands. Pants.

The ship battles are genius.
