Somewhere to mention and comment on the small bits of news that don't require an entire thread to themselves.

Operation Flashpoint 2 is coming to the major consoles. Brilliant stuff! I loved the Xbox version of Cold War Crisis.

Understood. But....

You should still make a topic for everything new. Even if it never gets a reply at first, you could start a "Halo 3 is going to suck because..." topic and a week or so later when it pops up on Google caches it'll start getting hits, and replies. Whereas by stating that in here people will arrive at the WLT thread and think they've got the wrong place.

There's also the point that people visiting the Gaming Forum don't see anything to talk about, because all the gaming stuff is buried in here, so they drift back to the IGN or Gamefaqs boards or whatever pitiful excuse for gaming discussion they came from in the first place, without realising that the Freeola Gaming Forums are still the living, breathing nerve centre of everything that's important in gaming, in the same way that in its previous life as an SR Gaming Forum it was world renowned - every other gaming forum in existence today was shaped and aspires to come close to what the forum users here created. With the exception of any discussions to do with Nintendo of course, which were monosyllabic grunts back in the days where discussion involving other legitimate formats were considered high literature.

On the plus side - if the thread was shut down, it might set a record for the shortest attempt at the Gaming Forum's World Longest Thread Attempt, but I think that was already beaten by a duplicate thread when the first one was attempted.

On the down side - someone might post something life-shattering in here one day, something that could change the face of gaming as we know it for mankind, and nobody else will find it, because it's buried in amongst posts discussing the average length of an elephant's toenail and the contribution of cows to global warming.

I realise that all the original forum users are still scattered around all over after the Great Upheaval, but post, and they will come. Their children and their children will follow. There will be a whole string of begat JATs. The forum will once again throb with postings of biblical proportions. With the exception of, perhaps, Sniper and his offspring. He had a hard enough time finding his way to his homepage.

Again shall the days arrive where you click on the gaming forum and find 40 new threads and scratch your head wondering which ones to reply to first. Again shall return the boring monologues of old. Again shall return people who freely admit to having the attention spans of amoeba with learning difficulties when they reply with TL;DR. Again shall thrust and parry of opinion cause audiences to gasp with awe at the sheer depth of knowledge, the artistry of the arguments and the stubborn stupidity of the duellists.

We have the power to bring all this about. We have the power to unleash the flamefests of old. We have the power to flood these deserted forums with life, with love of gaming and spam! Glorious spam! Alas! Poor spam, I knew him well.

P.S. Halo 3 is going to suck. I read about it here: Link

I'm glad you don't care. I don't really either.

I'm going off to watch some porn and eat some oreos.

Ciao.

Okies.

You were talking about me and my ill informed self. You then went on to say how people insulted me. I said I don't care what people think of me but you probably do care what they think of you.

No, you've totally lost me. I gave an example of someone giving an ill-informed opinion in some thread and every one of your posts after that has made no real sense. :S
