"First year of PS2 a waste?"

I dunno if any1 is gonna agree with me on this one, but I think that the first year of the PS2 has been almost a waste of time, it started well with SSX, quake revolution was ok no online play though, GT3 is amazing and is well worth it, but what else!?? Tekken Tag, what a let down, driving emotion type S made me laugh and ridge racer 5 barely scraped past the finish line! Is that it, is that what £300 brings you over one year, there should be at least 40 top class titles to choose from! At least next year looks a lot more promising, with the likes of Metal Gear Solid 2, Tekken 4 and Devil May Cry in the pipeline the PS2 is looking up, but the fact remains that 1 year of the PS2's short lifespan has gone! Has the first year been a waste?

Loading times Pah ive never had the problem of loading times on any of the consoles ive owned thank god. I couldn't of anything worse than having to wait for a level or Perfect Dark to load oh how annoying that would be.

It's bad but not terrible.

loading times are really annoying. The only game i have ever had patience with with long loading times was driver2.

Lol they dont feel they have to, ha ha thats the lamest excuse ive ever heard, they need to and you know it. MGS2 is supposedly using all of the PS2s power well maybe 98% of it, Hideo what his face who made the game has already said that he could make a better version on the Gamecube. If the PS2 is so powerful explain to me why it cant handle 4 player Xtreme g3 but the Gamecube can.

QUAKE

Great fun, great graphics, extremely poor load times, dull textures but still identical to PC version, Slick near constant frame rate, great character improvements during gameplay

UNREAL

FUN! Lots of levels, loads to unlock bit more colour, i-link feature, bit dodgy framerate

Both have 4 way split, unreal has PS2 linkup

I got Unreal coz my m8 has quake, arrives tommorrow hopefully!

what the loading like for quake3? becasue the loading on RED faction sucks

Yes, but that doesn't count as you have to spend money to have it. Sony could easily bring out an expansion pak but they don't feel they have to.

and also alows for more things to be placed on the screen, ie more moving things, more enemies.

Gah, the PS2 Unreal is crap. Quake III kicks its butt.

Quake 3 is good, Unreal Tournament is cack.
