Yes, it`s been done before.
No, it won`t be as lond as the FOG version.

Why am I trying it out anyway?

The PS2 forum is a very interesting place to be, but it can also be a little quiet. I though perhaps if we had a topic with several hundred replies lurking at the top, things would look more popular.

Feel free to use the topic to talk about anything. Either the latest PS2 game, latest ideas for including some female star in a game etc... or even just the usual chat that happens all over.

As I expect this to fail, I`ve decided to spend a little while pushing up the replies. No spamming, just lots of nonsense :-)

Any help would be great, it`d be boring to have a whole topic with replies from only me.

Ya jammy git, where abouts do you park?

Jive, yeh was thinking about installing sky plus just looking at alternative solutions from a networking point of view. Ive heard about a Micro ATX which you can build and use so thinking about doing that instead.

Yep, that'll be the jist of the answer, the pause facility is brilliant, phone rings .. press pause .. 5 mins later put phone down .. press play, straight back to the program as if you've never had any interruption .. adverts .. fast forward .. hurrah caught up with real time TV ... actually I wanted to watch that again .. rewind fully and start again .. nah actually I want to watch what's on now, press stop .. real tv takes over.

Fantastic piece of kit!

Finally got the Sky multiroom powered through to our bedroom so watched a nice picture in bed last night :)

I'm gonna get Sky+ powered upto our bedroom in the future, then I can watch everything that I've taped over the last couple of weeks :)

Morning,

A wonderful two days coming up as my boss is away so I get to play catch up some more with my paperwork :)

Coin - you probably asked in the best thread about uplighters. I knew Jive could do B&Q blindfolded but it sounds like Neo can as well now :)

Bah, who needs sky plus when you have the wonderful NTL?

With NTL you use your imagination for the names of programmes as the mini guide is reluctant to tell you anything.

Plus the random channel changes are fun, except when it's "Red Hot Wives 40+" when the whole family is watching.

So what's all the fus about this Sky plus lark then? Is it simply record programmes, and arrange them/watch them however you like, aswell as pausing and whatnot?

Neo, have recently had Sky+ installed, never had any experience of building the thing your talking about. I've seen the advert for the Philips box which is the same kind of thing like Sky+ but tapes more stuff, I think it'll tape about 160 hours whereas Sky+ will tape about 24 hours when it's first delivered.

You can stick another HD in the Sky+ box and up the record time to about 60 hours ....

Sky+ ROCKS by the way :D

Indeed.

Quick Q Jive, do you much about PVR's? a bit like Sky +, allows you to record TV progs on HD. I wanna purchase or build one and wondered if you have done either?

Hey Coin, try visiting some of the big retail shops like B&Q, Homebase etc or any specific lighting shops and get ideas from them and then source the bits cheaper elsewhere :)
