I recently dug out the N64 that my best mate and I used to play on religiously for about 4 years. The same copy of Goldeneye and Fifa 99, and it is still just a much fun as it was back then.

Goldeneye is still THE DADDY of first person shooters, and Fifa 99 is as good as Pro Evo 3 for its playability (not graphics though). WWF No Mercy is still the best wrestling game out there, no contest, the smackdown titles dont even come close to its prowess.

I still like my PS2 but the N64 is just, well, more fun!

Agreed. No Mercy, along with Perfect Dark makes me want to buy an N64 again.

I've got Banjo, yes.
And I regret spending my money on it.

It's oh so poor, and is about as good as Croc (which was average at best, for an 8 year old)

Halo is fecking genius. The physics and stuff in it, and the AI is just awesome in its awesome-ness. Goldeneye just feels like average FS fare, to me

AI and physics don't make a game great, genius level design and fresh ideas do, though.

As for Banjo, calling it average is a cardinel sin, it's a brilliant, brilliant game.

From what I've played, in comparison it is.

Calling Banjo crap is VERY wrong... it is the best Western Platformer ever created... a gorgeous game with fantastic physics, a comical storyline and a hell of a lot of depth. Tooie and Donkey Kong, the sequels don't match it due to the over-collection method RARE employed.

Rickoss is wrong in saying it beats Sunshine, because it doesn't... but hell it's the third best platformer on the N64 and better than anything rival formats at the time had to offer.

Halo isn't neccessarally overhyped crap... it's overhyped... like the Darkness... it isn't that good... like the Darkness.... but it's alright like the Darkness.

Actually Halo on the X-box does nothing for me, Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are better games because of what they did and the depth and the general feel of it all... sadly the control systems of yesteryear don't match todays standards and thusly the games aren't as playable as they once were.
