"It's Zelda for Grown-ups" - IGN

It's this kind of comment that makes me want to headbutt people.

It's on the advert for BG&E, it's on the inside cover of NGC, among other places. You'd think IGN had more sense..

Maybe so, but you can't deny it's a happy-go-lucky adventure in most parts, and as such reflects a more childish appearance than other games. I know it isn't childish, and I'm sure IGN didn't mean it as some sort of insult towards Nintendo in that quote.

Not in my eyes, Zelda is better... much better but my favourite games are in order: 1: Pokemon Yellow 2: Conker's Bad Fur Day 3: Zelda series 4: shadowman.

Yeah, they seem to be employing 12 year-olds with learning disabilities at the moment.

It's all about story really... Zelda's story is about a hero of time, transgressing the ages to save a princess. typically fairy tale.

Beyond Good and Evil is a story spanning goverment conspiracys and finding the truth.

Zelda is superior to BG&E... that is what angers me the most... Wind Waker despite lacking depth over its predcesors... is far deeper than BG&E.

And besides this is the exact same line used by N64 magazine to comment on Shadowman... although "Zelda's Evil Twin" wasn't quite as damaging to zelda as "Zelda for grown ups".

Just lughing out loud at this moment in time. I jumped from Zelda onto the Painkiller demo for the PC earlier then from Mario Sunshine to Silent Hill 3 yet the most enjoyable, most fun and most adult out of the 4 was Zelda. Not because it was difficult or because I could stake a zombie to the wall before going over and ripping its arm off but just because the developers were actually mature enough and sensible enough not to fall into the trap that so many of the modern companies do. Zelda is a far more mature game, perhaps not on the surface but deeper down it offers an adventure that the pasty faced morons at IGN probably can't even begin to appreciate.

IGN went downhill along time a go, their reviews are a complete joke for the most part and their reviewers are extremely inconsistent.

I don't think WW's atmosphere is childish.. it's just not adult as it doesn't have blood, gore and guns. The gloomy earth temple, shadowy Forsaken Fortress and the searing heat of the Dragon Roost volcano spring to mind as being distinctly un-childish.

It really doesn't have a childish air, though.

It's just suitable for all ages.
