It's this kind of comment that makes me want to headbutt people.
It's on the advert for BG&E, it's on the inside cover of NGC, among other places. You'd think IGN had more sense..
> The gloomy earth temple, shadowy
> Forsaken Fortress and the searing heat of the Dragon Roost volcano
> spring to mind as being distinctly un-childish.
Maybe so, but you can't deny it's a happy-go-lucky adventure in most parts, and as such reflects a more childish appearance than other games. I know it isn't childish, and I'm sure IGN didn't mean it as some sort of insult towards Nintendo in that quote.
> Ha! Shadowman was crap compared to Zelda!
Not in my eyes, Zelda is better... much better but my favourite games are in order: 1: Pokemon Yellow 2: Conker's Bad Fur Day 3: Zelda series 4: shadowman.
Beyond Good and Evil is a story spanning goverment conspiracys and finding the truth.
Zelda is superior to BG&E... that is what angers me the most... Wind Waker despite lacking depth over its predcesors... is far deeper than BG&E.
And besides this is the exact same line used by N64 magazine to comment on Shadowman... although "Zelda's Evil Twin" wasn't quite as damaging to zelda as "Zelda for grown ups".
IGN went downhill along time a go, their reviews are a complete joke for the most part and their reviewers are extremely inconsistent.
> I think they simply mean that while Wind Waker's atmosphere is fairly
> childish, Beyond Good & Evil's seems a lot more 'adult', so to
> speak.
I don't think WW's atmosphere is childish.. it's just not adult as it doesn't have blood, gore and guns. The gloomy earth temple, shadowy Forsaken Fortress and the searing heat of the Dragon Roost volcano spring to mind as being distinctly un-childish.
It's just suitable for all ages.
