After due consideration here are the results.
Everybody wants User Profiles.
RBS says lean some of the GAD prizes towards lesser forums to boost them and he suggests we include a "what's going on in the forums" or "forum news" somewhere.
Gaming Boy would like to see more input from the staff to start topics and kick-start discussion.
Grix suggests we have a tournament where we all download game to our PC and play against each other.
er-no wants a "who is here" link. You click on it and it tells you the names of most recent posters (good idea). And er-no wants the Notables to be given something to do (a request which I have just complied with in Chat forums)
TheBest_2K1 is keen on putting people in a hot seat. Everybody fires questions at the poor so...
Quazimodo would like links to your "Latest Post" and your web site url in your stats window (excellent).
Meka would like us to hold a song contest and have counters to see how many people have read a thread. pb backs this up with a similar request on reviews.
Cookie Monster suggests a Cluedo-style murder mystery event.
Dan2K1 would like on-line darts.
Dringo is keen to repeat some "Opposite Posts" - I believe this is intended to be head to head challenges on specific arguments.
Chr!stos says we should sometimes vote for Gameaday winners, instead of them being always picked by staff.
Salevunit suggested a Winning Posts Forum (view only), plus Tag of the Day competitions, Search Facilities and Caution Tags. The latter is a particularly strong suggestion, i.e. to give warning tags to people likely to face a ban.
BUT THE WINNER IS:
The prize is for the best SET of suggestions. The winner is SHEEPY for the following ideas:

To battle their wits for a few minutes on what they think is better... Sony or Nintendo on say a chat room style thing... others could watch but not post until after a time and then vote to say who they think argued the better.
It would surely cause talk amoungst both sides and much more argument which is always a good thing to bring life to the forums!

You hold the e-mail's for all the users who have signed up to use the forums?. Why not send them an e-mail after say a week or month to get them to come back to the forums and with it what has happened on forums (bit off upwire). Just remind them about the place and they may come back and post and share their more orignal and better views (Hmmmm). Or why not if someone has won and not claimed... they are obviously good at writing to win so remind them they have won a game, they will be grateful and return to post more good stuff.

Well I was thinking of doing this myself but I am sure you would get a bigger and more pleasing responce than I would have.
A FOG timeline or ukdiscussions/ukchatforums timeline.
Mainly a page with dates on it and information.
I.E.. first day - GAD starts - link to winner that day
Then down the lines when users signed up and then link to their profile... times that standout in the FOG... emm first time newbies got targeted... first story... when stories start and finish... when FAD started... new forums added... ones taken away... when tagline were first used... first notbale elction and secong you get the deal.

Life in the forums was buzzing on the nights before the election... how about having more elections which are pre-dated for different things!

I have been well answering him ever since them and theres the point, if people know more about peoples likes and dislikes it leads onto more friendlier discusions in future, often making commenst on their choice in the Console Wars... Music... Football team etc.

Oh yeah I also noticed when a 'newbie' comes on here they try to get to know as many people as possible and the ones that talk to them first usually become there close discussion person for the future, so you get to know more people then you get more discussions.

Every month a few teams should go against each other at a certain fixed time and date with a 'current issue' or debate... one of the staff members could watch over the issue and debate and then choose the winning team..
This would cause great debates and because the teams shall change it would be great for experience... also each team should elect a captain and the captain can't be used again for a few months after that... s/he would be the main speaker for the team!
The time and date would be a great thing, and also cause a high energy impact and cause an increase in life into the forums! Great!

Give people the option of posting reviews that can be used in the magazine.
Improve the profiles of the user. giving them the option to tell people a bit more about them.
Let people chose what colour there name is. ie have a set of colours for newbies, a set for regulars and a set for notables.

Give a history page... showing the actual amount of members.. what the highest post number is for 24 hours.. and the general history of the forums and in particular the FOG.
