After due consideration here are the results.
Everybody wants User Profiles.
RBS says lean some of the GAD prizes towards lesser forums to boost them and he suggests we include a "what's going on in the forums" or "forum news" somewhere.
Gaming Boy would like to see more input from the staff to start topics and kick-start discussion.
Grix suggests we have a tournament where we all download game to our PC and play against each other.
er-no wants a "who is here" link. You click on it and it tells you the names of most recent posters (good idea). And er-no wants the Notables to be given something to do (a request which I have just complied with in Chat forums)
TheBest_2K1 is keen on putting people in a hot seat. Everybody fires questions at the poor so...
Quazimodo would like links to your "Latest Post" and your web site url in your stats window (excellent).
Meka would like us to hold a song contest and have counters to see how many people have read a thread. pb backs this up with a similar request on reviews.
Cookie Monster suggests a Cluedo-style murder mystery event.
Dan2K1 would like on-line darts.
Dringo is keen to repeat some "Opposite Posts" - I believe this is intended to be head to head challenges on specific arguments.
Chr!stos says we should sometimes vote for Gameaday winners, instead of them being always picked by staff.
Salevunit suggested a Winning Posts Forum (view only), plus Tag of the Day competitions, Search Facilities and Caution Tags. The latter is a particularly strong suggestion, i.e. to give warning tags to people likely to face a ban.
BUT THE WINNER IS:
The prize is for the best SET of suggestions. The winner is SHEEPY for the following ideas:

Round Number Prizes (e.g. at 10,000 posts in a forum)
"Number Day" I think this means we would all be anonymous.
Vote people off the forums Big Brother style (love that).
Guess the Phantom Poster.
Complaint Button (already in place now with the report link)
Improve the message filter and the feedback from it.

How about a 'Treasure Hunt'.
Clues are posted randomly on different forums (maybe boosting their popularity in the process).
The 'treasure' would be a certain phrase picked from a thread previously posted.
Initial clues could give the day, then other clues could maybe give the poster.
The first one to find it wins something.
Not a GAD, or you couldn't do it very often. But then again would people take part regularly?

The option to battle people over the net like a server where you can play half life or Age of empires over.

A debate board, set up a debate post and have an argument on a a specific topic e.g. What console looks better?
After the debate is over you announce the winning team, Nintendo, Sega or Sony or microsoft tea,.
The person who put up the strongest fight on wither team wins and extra GAD?
These will appear as you choose and expect it to last a few days a promise of a prize will cause a load of posting! And liven up the forums.

I posted this in the FOG chat a while back and got a great response (42 replies) and 90% of peope were all for it.
This was my idea:
When you click on the stats of a user it currently shows the users nickname, user type (regular, newbie etc) and how long ago they registered.
I think it would look cool if it had a picture of the user on it aswell, about the same size has the little advert that appears on the pop up.
When you register you have the option of entering a tagline, name, address etc.
All that would be needed is a field that lets you browse your computer and upload your decided picture.
The pictures could be real life photos or just a cartoon of yourself, but whatever it is, it must be of yourself.
I think this would make the forums a little more personal, because you could see a picture of the person you are talking to and would also add a little fun to the forums taking the mick out of everyone! :)

How about you send as loyal and trusted posters a new game for free... we play it for hours on end and then give a review of it instead some of you slackers at SR ;)
This means Tony you get them to do more hard work with better results instead of them enjoying themselves and slacking. :D :D
