Just a shame I won't have broadband when it comes out on November 9th.
The difference is Halo 2 will live up to the hype, whereas for HL2 to come anywhere close to its full potential will require a monster PC. Halo 2 will run on all Xboxes.
Half Life 2 has just been in development for too long. I think it is turning into another Breed.
There is no way Halo 2 is going to be better than HL2, no matter how sweet.
Master Chief > Gordon Freeman
Elite Energy Sword > Crowbar
That alone sums it up.
Maybe.
And, er, I think the spec edition is released at the same time as the cheapo one.
"Halo sequel shows potential"
Haha, they worded it as if it were a first time developer's first game.

Hah. No.
Regardless of Live play, which will be sweet, Half Life 2 looks to utterly revolutionise FPS gaming - full on physics, completely independant (not merely clever) AI - i.e leave an alien in a city and he'll perform his task anyway possible - completely stunning graphics and sound, innovation, whereas Halo 2 seems to bring together a 'greatest hits' of FPS gaming, Half Life 2 is looking to move the goalposts far away....and from what I've seen, a squad system....
Obviously, both'll rock, but HL2 looks completely superior.
