Due to the death of a boy by a killer who was influenced by Manhunt, Manhunt has now been taken off of the shelves.

Your views??

As never playing the game i would like details of the actual gameplay if anyone can be bothered to get of their dimples to tell me

Yes, they just don't want to say "Our son was capepable of killing so he did as he is evil" They blame the game to make him look better. But were stupid and irisponsable enough to let there underage son play a 18 game, then surely it will make them look bad, like they provoked it or something? (sorry for any spelling mistakes I may have made)

the police take items from the killers bedroom, perades them to the mother, the items being a selection of video games ranging from kingdom hearts to Manhunt, violent DVD's, violent Books and satonic music CD's, the perade also including downloaded documents on how to kill people. The mother wants to blame something that is an easy target, therefor chooses the video game manhunt to reak her revenge upon, in course making the game even more popular. Now these items may not have appeared in the bedroom, but, in any case what good came from the mother blaming manhunt?, maybe manhunt did fuel the killer, but, the killer was of underage for the game, and thus the game cannot be judged as material to be banned for his actions.
what sort of a mum and dad lets their 14 year old son go to a park at 9:30pm with a 17 year old anyway? the farther says that they were meeting 2 women and trusted the 17 year old .

Dixons group have only took the game off the shelves in a mark of respect, they probably had 1 copy per store, game have stoped selling it incase they sell it to an under-age person.
I'm just glad that the boy is being put behind bars and that no one is taking the mother of the dead boy seriously.

The do gooders won't be happy until everyone is wrapped in about 20 layers of cotton wool and talk to each other like a bloody Osmond show.

Let's ban all videogames they so obviously control the kids of today minds. It won't be long before every person under 18 is a homicidal killing machine.

Now if you'll excuse me i've just been playing MVP Baseball 2004 and have the sudden urge to go smack some baseballs 300+ yards with a stick.

Which would be why someone in one near me said they couldn't see what the fuss was about? lol

Think you'll find it is standard that no company wants it's staff talking to the press.

What gets me is the sheer hypocrisy going on.

Dixons group bans Manhunt - yet has Ichi The Killer (so no one is bothered about this stuff happening to real people?) in stock, as well as The Suffering (18 rated), and 8MM DVD (film that plays part inspiration for Manhunt).

GAME does likewise online. Yet has Ichi, Suffering etc

Blockbuster couldn't do it because there stock covers everyting from Disney to softcore pornography with numerous sick films along the way.

And all the time you can see more gruesome and horrifying stuff than the entire content of Manhunt on the news each night.

We're bothered that one moron kills someone but the media happily sits by as tens of thousands are sentenced to death in Sudan.

More money will be spent during the US election campaign by the parties than the entire cost (which still has not been found yet) for the UN relief operation in Sudan.

It wouldn't be so bad if the media attention was creating an informed debate about videogame content, but instead it's turned Manhunt into an overnight sales sensation and show developers that yes, risque content buys them media flack, but by god it gets the bank balance rolling skywards.
