Mainly as Machie and I seem to spend half the time on the WLT chatting about Doctor Who...

Here's my current favourites;

Best Classic Episode: Genesis of the Daleks (Tom Baker)

Best Classic Doctor: Late 7th Doctor - when the stories got darker and the character really developed into something more than just a Timelord.

Best DVD: The Invasion

Best New Doctor Who Episode: Army of Ghosts / Doomsday

Also you didnt mention to me that actually Davison became a Doctor when he was 29 making him the youngest Doctor ever I think. I didnt know that, he looked much older.

(referring to an earlier conversation where I mentioned I wasnt keen on them having such young Doctors)

I give up >_< but there is a difference between an actor auditioning for a role and producers asking a celebrity actor to accept a role.

See Earthshock (Davison Cyberman story) for the answer to that first question. But it's no way certain that the story is true (it was started by The Sun) and since Season 4 is already set, I think Davis would already have planned it out, the BBC itself doesn't really have that much say in these things so it would be the team and mainly Davis who would have decided anything.

Jessica Stevenson is an actress. She's as much a celebrity as anyone else in Doctor Who, including the regular cast. I don't think it makes any difference for people like that. Non-actors are another question, but as long as they're not shoehorned in, but given the job via the proper route (screentest etc).

Tonight when you download it in 15 minutes from tvtorrents like the rest of us who missed it.

Unless you'd rather not in which case I have no idea. I dont think it is actually, unless its on one of those other BBC channels.

Some good news at last =)

Though I think [BLANK] should be killed off so then you realise it's not all fun and games. Have they killed off one before pb?

Also I'm going to moan about all the celebs again, they even wanted Stephen Fry to be in it. And I think next episode has Jessica from Spaced. pb don't you dare tell me that almost every classic episode had some celebrity in it ;) Actually some have been good choices, I remember enjoying Peter Kay's one. I guess I just dont want them to do it so much because it starts to spoil the show. This isn't Friends it's Dr Who.

Okay that's the last time I'll moan about them having celebrities. I promise ;)

I think I've narrowed down by general objection to Dr. Who at the moment.

As I was bored the other day I decided to watch a few episodes from the Christopher Eccleston series, it was so much better than what we currently have. I think its defining characteristic is that it didnt take itself very seriously. It was kinda cheesey and the Doctor was very quirky. Even if the stories werent so great it was still fun to watch. The current series seems to be all high drama which doesnt work unless theres a certain level of believability to draw you in. But the stories and production values just arent good enough for that. :(
