Here's my current favourites;
Best Classic Episode: Genesis of the Daleks (Tom Baker)
Best Classic Doctor: Late 7th Doctor - when the stories got darker and the character really developed into something more than just a Timelord.
Best DVD: The Invasion
Best New Doctor Who Episode: Army of Ghosts / Doomsday
The Master was the guy that always wore black and pretty much became more of a panto villain for a while before the final few stories. He was in the last classic episode (Survival) and then, played by Eric Roberts, appeared in the TV Movie.
Loads of people wanted The Master back and he's been an integral Doctor Who character since the Pertwee years. It's how Simms now plays him that will be the key. They could change the character completely or tie it in (even with subtle nods to the classic series) with the previous incarnations.
I can't wait to see what he'll get up to, though. The one thing is that I hope they'll provide some sort of explanation as to how he managed to get more regenerations. The Anthony Ainley Master ran out of them and the Eric Roberts one was just a host body that the Master used once he'd found the power of the creature on Skaro that would allow him to take them over. So some time between the Movie and now he's managed to grab himself a Timelord body again and the regenerative powers.
Anyway, stupid Master, surely one of the bad guys can eventually die :P
Poor old doctor never gets a rest!
> Who the hell is The Master?
A renegade timelord, i.e. A Baddie!!!!!!!!!!!
... By the way, looks like pretty much all my predictions were correct then... ;)
At it's worst it was worth it just for that ending...
We know for sure that this is well after the year 5 billion, heh.
Captain Jacks appearance relates to the last episode of nthe spinoff series 'Torchwood', in which right at the end you here the sound of the TARDIS :) Don't know any more than that though (Unless of course Captain Jack is the other timelord Boe talked of, although this is one of the more farfetched theories). Hopefully Captain Jack will have a good role and appear in all three of the final episodes (I think there's three left) which would make sense as theres usually a thrilling two part finale to the series.
Anyway, onto the next episode, and it certainly sounds good, from what I can gather they're going to "the end of the Universe" where it would appear they are taking the theory of an infintly expanding universe. The concept is that there is one planet left that holds the lives of all remaining creatures.
though this could be speculation
Heck knows how Captain Jack falls into all of this =D
One last question, is it true that Martha (whatever her real name is) is getting fired? I do hope so! =D
