Mainly as Machie and I seem to spend half the time on the WLT chatting about Doctor Who...

Here's my current favourites;

Best Classic Episode: Genesis of the Daleks (Tom Baker)

Best Classic Doctor: Late 7th Doctor - when the stories got darker and the character really developed into something more than just a Timelord.

Best DVD: The Invasion

Best New Doctor Who Episode: Army of Ghosts / Doomsday

Usually read Outpost Gallifrey for most of the news.

The Sun is sometimes there first, but not so reliable!

Hey you didn't post your source last time :P

Actually Bill Bailey and Dylan Moran I wouldn't mind seeing in Dr Who. Maybe they could even have Nick Frost too.

You did, indeed.

Though post your sources this time! :D

Possibly candidates for the next sign up:

Bill Bailey
Dylan Moran
Sean Hughes
Kate O'Mara (reprising her role as The Rani)
All living previous Doctors (for a special)
Any of the previous companions (Jamie, Dorothée or Romana 2 would be good)

Aha! Looks like I beat you this time pb.

The producers of Dr Who, ever keen to fill every single episode with a celebrity guest appearance. Are now trying to schedule in Dennis Hopper to play a baddie in series 4. You'll remember him from such films as Easy Rider, Waterworld and Super Mario Bros.

edit: He's one of the best actors so far, I wouldnt mind seeing him in an episode though.

I wouldn't call John Simm or David Tennant bad actors.

She was good in the christmas one and they did get on well but I'm just not sure it would work for 13 hour long episodes.

I wonder how much it's costing to have her in it.

I dont see the problem with Catherine Tate to be honest. I thought the on screen chemistry between her and the doctor was pretty good. And perhaps she can bring the fun element that this last series was sorely missing.

Kylie's been in a few films such as Moulin Rouge and Sample People, and obviously in Neighbours for years, where she was originally made famous, The Sullivans back when she was a tiny tot and The Henderson Kids, as well as popping up in loads of TV shows and more recently the voice actress for Florence in the Magic Roundabout.

I really can't see it being a problem, especially not for a Christmas Special, anyway. I'd probably even prefer her over Catherine Tate for the main show, but I'll reserve judgement.

Anyway, point is that exactly the same things were being said about Billie prior to series 1, and yet she turned out to be a great choice.

I liked Freema, too. She wasn't as good as Billie, but she fitted the part and you have to remember that the script itself plays a big part in how the actor comes across.
