People nowadays, especially game critics, rate all these games... they give them points for this and points for that... and what is the 'point' of it all? I mean who is to say that the average gamer will see things the same way as one of the IGN gaming addicts or have the same opinions as the Editor of Planet Gamecube?
I don't, or very rarely, buy a game as a result of reading a review... The games I have brought are a result of playing the games predecessor or having a 'thing' for the developer. I like certain styles of games, not necessarily different genres but different styles... I prefer the UT FPS's to the Deus Ex / Swat 3 FPS's, more action less thinking. I like to keep my thinking for RPG's and RTS's.
But back to the topic at hand. There will no doubt be some of you who feel that Graphics aren't nearly as important as Gameplay, others who feel the opposite and a select few who're right in the middle or on the fence, as it were. But doesn't it matter... I don't think either is more important. Okay so without Graphics Shenmue wouldn't be the same, but without Gameplay Conker's BFD wouldn't be Conker's BFD!
Games aren't about graphics or gameplay... sure they are attributes the game has but they aren't the purpose of the game. Who is to say that one game is better than another... there is no official company that rates games on how fun they are... they can't decide that... they can't decide which genre's are the best... I mean, I love Mario, at 17 years-old that might come as a shock to you but I don't care... he 'makes-a' me laugh. On the other hand FM hates Mario, but Mario isn't good or bad because of one persons opinion.... Ant thinks RPG's are "dull, dull and... dull!" But Grix might like them... So because Grix likes RPG's does that make them good?! No! Because Ant hates them does that make them bad?! No!
To get to the point, games aren't about Graphics or Gameplay... they're not about which genre they fall into and they're not about how long they last or who they're made by...
Games are about one thing and one thing only... just a 3 letter word...
FUN!
Having fun when you're playing a game is the most important thing ever... Make sure you make the right decision when buying a game or console... it's the fun that counts NOT OTHER PEOPLES opinions or preferances!
You wan't to buy a game? You buy it! Don't let others persuade or desuade you...!

Hmmmm.... I suppose.
Because it breaks al the rules of console gaming and segregates users. Bringing out a HDD is OK as it doesn't impose restrictions. But with the expansion pack, it means some N64 owners can't play Perfect Dark.

The HDD will not upgrade the PS2's performance as that means developers will have to make games for people with and people without the unit. This brings us to a PC-style lowest common denominator situation.

I can tell you now that TH: PS2 on the Gameboy Advance is amazing and it is ground breaking. The graphics are exceptional and the sound is good. The skaters are cool and most, if not all the moves/tricks are there!
But I can't tell you whether it'll be fun!
You have to decide that for yourselves, as do I. I guess these reviews aren't so bad in the way that they give you a good idea on how the game will play. But then again, you don't KNOW that until you've played it!

I know what you mean, i read the reviews to find out what the game is about, i dont consider the result!

Reviews bore down to someone elses opinion... they may be a big-time editor for IGN or even our local News Monkey, (who we love very much) But it's still their opinion and not ours!
To really appreciate a game you have to play it... experience is the key...!

I always thought that shorter games were a litte more fulfilling, I mean games like Conker are great, the quality and length are almost perfect.... Games like Skies of Arcadia are also good, but they can get a little tedious... same old stuff etc.
Will the PS2 HDD only hold a little bit of RAM then? Maybe they should put PC RAM ports in! Then people could upgrade them. Although turning the PS2 into a PC isn't the best of ideas.
