Saw some videos of this a while back, and despite the hype of the supposed "Halo-beater" - that wasn't even finished, let alone out! - it looked a bit ass. But some more recent videos show that they've sorted out choppy framerates, and now it's looking excellent. Might have to keep an eye on this one...

Darwock you mong, I'm comparing two IMPRESSIONS I have of these games. I haven't played either, and I haven't pretended to. From what I can tell from the two games, Halo 2 is built upon the already established and loved Halo (and critically adored), has fantastic graphics, features and sounds (from movies I've seen) - and promises to be one of the most complete online games ever made. Killzone also looks impressive - but based on previous works (I.e Shellshock) Guerilla haven't delievered, and while the game looks pretty damn good for a PS2 title, it doesn't *look* to have the same expansive promise as Halo 2. I could well be wrong - you need to stop taking these impressions so damn seriously - Killzone could turn out to be the greateset game ever, I don't know, but what's the point of waiting till you buy it to wonder how you'll feel about it?

Realistically, it was never meant to stand up to Halo 2. However, it loks set to be the best PS2 FPS out there.

They are two sandwhiches wrapped in the same bread with a different filling, they can't really be compared anyway.
I understand what Darwock is saying as people do give an opinion on games they haven't played, this goes on all the time however. It stands out more when it is a negative opinion as games rarely look poor through videos and previews.

For those of you who can't keep up, this is what I'm having a go at:
"Killzone appears to me to be one of those games that will have 'amazing realism and a real sense of involvement' without actually being any fun."
Being able to determine the sense of fun gained from playing a game without playing it is completely ludicrous.

From what I've seen with my eyes and heard with my ears, and analysed with my relatively intelligent brain, I don't see how it's going to stand up to Halo 2.
Surely that applies to anyone speculating about a game and as such no discussion would arise.
I haven't played it but from what I have seen it looks nothing other than excellent. Is that non-sensical bollards? To form an opinion from what I have read and seen?

No you were adding an opinion OF previous experiences... you've never played Killzone so can't possibly comment one way or the other. It's that kind of nonsensical b*&$ocks that really makes this place the pits.
