HERE ARE THE RESULTS OF THIS COMPETITION. I have read ALL the entries!
A lot of entries mentioned things which have generally been discussed before or are in the pipeline. They include:
User Profiles
Polls
Walkthroughs and Game Guides
Highest Scores
Who is currently posting
Splash Plastic (which is too expensive for us to do)
Online Reddies
Logos and Ringtones (see UKphonetones.com)
Genre search for games
Tell a Friend.
It just goes to show how busy we are that we are unable to get many of the above into place. But hey, expenditure is controlled by income (hint).
I liked Darkness' idea about tutorials, and Mantis made the suggestion to have a "Gamesmaster" of the forums based on competitions for high scores.
Cookie Monster wants people to be able to promote their website (we already offer this for Freeola customers) and he also suggests that we have an office pet which is monitored with a web cam (brilliant).
Monkey_with_Attitude suggests a "most played games of the week" counter on UKgames.com.
Freak of the Dark says our logo should "move or something".
Turbonutter reckons we should run Flash games and this is supported by Shaneo who says we should run SR Arena and give prizes to the best players. Turbonutter also tells us that we are lacking on PC game specification of the type you find on the back of the box and Swish extends this to a link under each title.
CDouch is a "man of a thousand ideas", mostly on the button too. He lists: Information on gaming from around the world, more mini sites like UKgt3, kids corner, celebrity visits and better organised release info including more information on unreleased games (to name but a few of his suggestions).
The rules (written by Kendozod) state "exciting and would attract a lot of visitors".
THE WINNERS ARE:

Turbonutter for FLASH GAMES.

Many people use Quicktime to download game video's etc... from other sites, I don't like Realplayer and therefore don't download from SR, if you gave the user both options of RealPlayer and Quicktime you would get more hits.....

Everybody plays games on here, every month a couple of games should be selected from each section, and then everyone can have a go at beating each others scores, basically say for the first month SR do the 'FZero X Death Match' time as a competition...
...the fastest time submitted wins, we could sumbit by sending in a picture (photograph, no scans) to an address and then the best time after a deadline wins a game...

The FOG Gallery
This could include pictures and descriptions of some of FOG's regular users along with there stats (word/post counts etc) It could also include information submitted by them, filled out in form style with questions you have given to learn more about them.
Other aspects can be consoles they own etc.
I think everybody that gets the status of regular should be able to do this.
It could be much like the site faceparty.com which specialises in member profiles. It is one of the most visted pages on the web and has only been online for a few months.
Again this will make your site even more interactive, which we all love.

How about a quizes section. See how much you really know about your favourite console,company or game.
You could make a forum to submit jokes in and then at the end of the day/week the best joke is selected and displayed on ukgames.com or if it is long there is a link to the forum.
I think giving a prize away for Jokeaday or something is not fair as SR are too generous! But the sharing of jokes and seeing them shown will be a great edition to the site and the discussions.
