So, what do you guys think of them? I got their first album, pretty awsome. If you don't know who they are, they're the band with three former GNR members and 2 other people.

Metallica have a lot of forced anger but it never strikes me as genuine, they're just playing up to people's expectations and they're not very good anyway.

G N'R on the otherhand actually had some decent material to shout about, atleast at first and you can always rely on Axl to take it one step too far.

Sheesh, music is an art form, not a competition.

You can't just choose one guitarist..

There's so many fantastic ones.

Even the one from Bloc Party can play some tricky stuff.

I'm not confining myself to Slash, I'm only saying that I like some his riffs and solos

For me it has to be Hendrix, Clapton or Dimebag

Actually I wasn't.

Check out some heavier music, guitar parts that take so much more skill to be able to play, and to me, it sounds better.

Beats the hell out of another of Slash's dull riffs followed by yet another boring solo.

It's not always the case though.

Metallica had a lot of stuff to be angry about when they were recording the St Anger album. As a result of all the anger stuff, Napster, alcohol problems, bass player leaving etc, they ended up producing their worst album yet.

SLash is an awful guitarist who's guitar went haywire at the end of Paradise City (I mean, what is that he's playing? An awesome solo or something?)

Whereas Slash is an average guitarist who just happens to play music that's great.
