Oh well, while I'm here...
First off - hello all. Hope you're all having spiffingly wonderful lives. Well, most of you... ;-p
Now that's out of the way...
I have my PSP on pre-order with a certain other online retailer, and I need to get some games for it too. So any of you importers got any recommendations? I'll be buying official UK versions first off, but importers may be in a position to advise, having played the games. Yes, I have read reviews, but personal opinions can give a better balance.
What I'm thinking of so far are Ridge Racer, Mercury, Virtua Tennis, Metal Gear Acid, Ape Academy and Coded Arms. I know some of these are out in other regions, others may not be. Anyone have them and care to share their opinion?
Obviously there are a few must-have games which will be out shortly after launch (I'm thinking GT4 Mobile, Daxter and Pursuit Force specifically), but what of the current games? Is Mercury as much fun as it looks? Does Metal Gear really work as a 'card game'? How does Coded Arms play with only one analogue stick? Is Ape Academy fun? Should I choose a racer other than Ridge?
Also, as PSP is region-free for gaming, what websites would you recommend for cheap import games? Now I know some people at SR get particularly arsey about naming competitors here, even when they sell a multitude of things that SR don't... so feel free to e-mail me (about this only) - address on my profile page. And thanks in advance.
On the new pics, are they the later ones on pages 8 and 9 [Ah, forget I asked, just looked again and noticed that the dates confirm that]? I saw some nice pics of the Minolta and the 787B, there was also an awesome pic of that series 1 (forgotten the make) on page 9. Hopefully, if I can sort out the USB stick stuff, then I'll be able to do something similar.
Right, back to work. Thanks again to both of you though! (Wooks and Abs)
I literally just plug mine in to the USB socket on the PS2 and it works fine. It came with a CD containing various software, but I've never had to use it - it's just plug & play from the outset.
Plug it in to the PS2, take the photos, save them to the USB drive. Then when I plug it in to the PC, it appears as a removable drive. The game creates a "GT4" directory in which all the photos are saved, and it's just a question of drag & drop to wherever I want them on my HD - just the same as copying between any other drives.
I can only suggest that, for whatever reason, your drive isn't compatible - but I've no idea why. It really is that simple to transfer them.
And by the way, I've added some more to my album. http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/1651903
Have you tried yours on GT4?
This s a 16mb USB stick designed for both the PS2 and PC this also comes with software which you need to use in conjunction with the USB stick in the PS2. This then provides you with an interface to transfer data once loaded, it is also used as a driver to recognise the USB stick.
I don't think you can use just any old USB stick unless Wookie knows different?

Hi! Turns out its not as easy as I thought. I finally got round to taking some photos on Gran Turismo 4 yesterday, but couldn't get them to save on to my USB stick. Its just a free 16Mb one, but it usually works fine. When saving, or trying to, it says "flash memory not found", despite the fact that the USB stick is in the PS2 with its little red light on.
Do you think my stick is too simple? Did yours just plug in and work straight away? On the link you gave for your stick, it said it was all automatic, mine required a seperate disc to set the thing up. Many thanks in advance if you have any ideas!
I dont beleive you until you tell me how it works, MSN....now!

Yup, mine are working... I had a bit of problems with Lumines but I just downloaded a new loader. NBA I cant get past the loading screen but im not too bothered about that.
I havent even tried Smart Bomb but ive got all the others working - DTR, Wipeout, Lumines, Ape Escape.
Fun fun fun.
Do you know where to put the folders/files etc on your mem stick?

Trust me mate, everywhere I have been people have said it is the best out of the series. I have it and it's amazing how much FREE downloadable content Sony are giving out. The FOURTH downloadable pack came out the other day, and they're not small packs, they have new ships, new skins for the menu, new tracks and Sony has announced that they will be releasing some Music packs soon...along with EVEN MORE downloable packs.
It's suprising to think that Sony are actually doing this, if they keep this up and do downloadable packs for other games they might just have changed their ways and might convince me to get their next console.
Oh and graphics wise it's supposed to be better than the PS1 and PS2 version.

Ohh nice, might have to consider getting the Xbox and PSP versions, I play in Drazen's online PES league so I'll need the Xbox version, wireless PES sounds nice though :D
