Oh well, while I'm here...
First off - hello all. Hope you're all having spiffingly wonderful lives. Well, most of you... ;-p
Now that's out of the way...
I have my PSP on pre-order with a certain other online retailer, and I need to get some games for it too. So any of you importers got any recommendations? I'll be buying official UK versions first off, but importers may be in a position to advise, having played the games. Yes, I have read reviews, but personal opinions can give a better balance.
What I'm thinking of so far are Ridge Racer, Mercury, Virtua Tennis, Metal Gear Acid, Ape Academy and Coded Arms. I know some of these are out in other regions, others may not be. Anyone have them and care to share their opinion?
Obviously there are a few must-have games which will be out shortly after launch (I'm thinking GT4 Mobile, Daxter and Pursuit Force specifically), but what of the current games? Is Mercury as much fun as it looks? Does Metal Gear really work as a 'card game'? How does Coded Arms play with only one analogue stick? Is Ape Academy fun? Should I choose a racer other than Ridge?
Also, as PSP is region-free for gaming, what websites would you recommend for cheap import games? Now I know some people at SR get particularly arsey about naming competitors here, even when they sell a multitude of things that SR don't... so feel free to e-mail me (about this only) - address on my profile page. And thanks in advance.
There are some mad eBay offers on high capacity Memory Stick DUO's though - £28 for a 1Gb with £11 shipping - that's £39 for a 1Gb Memory Stick! Usually with a 2-3 day delivery too.

Eek! I'm not normally this impulsive, but I followed the link, spent a few minutes looking around, then bought one. £23 seemed reasonable, particularly compared to the competition. The reassuring thing for me was that if for some reason it doesn't work with the PS2 (through differences in our PS2s or my incompetence), then it doesn't matter too much as I've been needing a larger USB stick for a while now.
Hopefully this'll arrive fairly soon - judging by the feedback and massive delivery cost, I'd expect it by the end of the week at the latest, but am happy to be patient if it works. Thanks for pointing out the link Wòókiee!
Right, I did a bit of digging and it seems the PSP doesn't work with GT4 with small cards, I've seen one site saying 256Mb or above should be ok, but I can't confirm or disprove that as I only have the 32Mb card which came with the PSP.

It is!
I paid around £40 for mine a few months ago from eBay, and that included £8 for delivery - but was still cheaper than Amazon, which at the time was the cheapest place online.

This guy is a new seller, but has sold a few of them before. There are others from sellers with more history, but they're a bit more expensive. http://search.ebay.co.uk/micro-vault_W0QQfkrZ1QQfromZR8
Thanks for your help though, I might look around for a new stick.
No, it doesn't show up in the System Browser. I just stick the drive in the USB slot on the PS2, turn it on, load GT4 and play the game as usual.
I save the replays, or use Photo Travel Mode, take the photos and save them directly to the drive. All images the game outputs are saved as standard JPG files in 1280 x 960 resolution.
Then I take the drive out, stick it in my PC's USB slot, where it appears as a removable drive.
From there, I just drag & drop onto the PC.
Simple as that. No other hardware or software required.
