"BBC comedy Blackadder will return for its fifth series next year.

Seventeen years after the emotional climax of 1989's Blackadder Goes Forth, Rowan Atkinson and Tony Robinson will reprise their roles as Blackadder and Baldrick.

Writer Richard Curtis told the Daily Express of the show's return: "We'd always said we'd do it, and yes we definitely still want to."

Excellent, finally some good comedy on TV!

Well, I can't speak for everyone's tastes, obviously, but I absolutely despise Friends. It's unfunny, predictable and so boring to watch.

It was made ten times worse when everyone would come into school and reel off all the 'funny' lines the day after.

17 years... thats as old as me... but its funnier. much much funnier.

i dont agree with all this Friends hating either, but just because it isnt as good as one of the best comedies ever, doesnt mean its rubbish.

what era is the new one sset in?

If it was so crap it wouldn't have gotten so many viewers.

And Hedfix, you have a bit of a cheek to talk about humour.

I agree about Blackadder though, it's a million times better than Friends (Which I'll still happily watch as it's quite funny).

Heh, very good

Blackadder dipped for the whole first series and then Ben Elton came aboard and it stopped being utter crap.

"Friends" dipped at series five which was terrible, and never really recovered.
