Seventeen years after the emotional climax of 1989's Blackadder Goes Forth, Rowan Atkinson and Tony Robinson will reprise their roles as Blackadder and Baldrick.
Writer Richard Curtis told the Daily Express of the show's return: "We'd always said we'd do it, and yes we definitely still want to."
Excellent, finally some good comedy on TV!
EDIT: In business i believe it is called 'extension strategies' trying to extend the life of a show when it is in decline. Will eventually fail.
I like Blackadder, why do I feel they should've just left it with the sad ending that was Blackadder Goes Fourth.
Excellent...
Fits the pattern.
Mostly having absolutely no impact on the actual episode plots whatsoever.
Most of the crises are personal, not national.
...anyway they all are set in a time with some conflict going on. How can you have a coward like Blackadder without some impending danger/doom?
Anything more modern probably wouldn't work very well ... and the hierarchical structure kinda dissapears. WW2 would be too like the last series.
OR set during the time of prohibition.
