I'd say it was some combination of Immersions specific design patent not applying to Gamecube controllers (they have one centrally located motor rather than two in the handles), and the general patent for a rumble feature in a controller already being owned by Nintendo, meaning that Nintendo have infringed on none of Immersions patents, and are therefore unsuable in this case.

It was done for comedy hun, and also by the fact I really enjoy winning arguements when I'm right.
