I had this talk with my boyfriend. He wants to get married whereas I think that we don't need a piece of paper to show how much we love each other.
Am I missing the point of marriage?
I know I want to be with my boyfriend for the rest of my life, I just don't see why I need to get married to show that.
Though to be honest, I'll proberly get married eventually and do the traditional thing.

Then why get married and more to the point whats the hurry, if you believe this is forever then whats the rush unless you're in a hurry to start a family.
If it doesn't mean anything more to you than what you've said whats the point?
Eb should know better :P

Before hand.
And Flock, I'm going to love, honour and obey, him in sickness and in health etc etc no matter if we are married or not.
[edit] He just laughed at the obey, then clicked his fingers and told me to make me some food.

Well you have an 'engagement ring' this normally means the girl has agreed to get married.
EDIT: or have you jsut picked one before hand

Thats an odd reason for you, thats a guy thing so the kids are raised under daddys surname.

Not a bad reason, just a very odd one and he's right although (and i'm going on my own thinking here) if i asked someone to marry me and they said yes for that main reason i'd withdraw the offer. If you dont agree with those vows it's utterly pointless.

He said 'no'. He's sulking at the moment.

Yes to what?
I said we are going to get married in 2 and a half years. He just needs to get the ring now :o)
Is he going to wear a dress too?
