What do you think of the whole idea of getting married?

I had this talk with my boyfriend. He wants to get married whereas I think that we don't need a piece of paper to show how much we love each other.

Am I missing the point of marriage?

I know I want to be with my boyfriend for the rest of my life, I just don't see why I need to get married to show that.

Though to be honest, I'll proberly get married eventually and do the traditional thing.

I've already said that there isn't a point unless you make one.
So what does getting married mean to you, do you want to get married?

I suggest going through a rough patch and arguing a bit before even thinking about it. I dont know how you can commit on untested foundations.

He wants me to point out that he hasn't asked me, and that I just want to start a discussion.

Though he has told me he knew when and where he was going to ask me though i guessed how and now it's spoilt. So he's got to think of something better good luck

Marrage is also a good last ditch attempt to keep a relationship going that or children.
