This mistake people make is similar to the mistake people make when they think that the new G4 macs are slow compared to pcs just because their PowerPC processors are 500mhz, they infact have the capability to do a billion operations per second a thing that only very latest intel coppermine processors are able to do starting at the 866 one I think.
Anyway i hope this clears up any misunderstanding.

MICROSOFT do suck, and this is just another "cash in" from Bill Gates and co. I will be buyng a PS2, because, like someone said before, give a console time, and the games improve. By which time the X-Box arrives, the PS2 will have better games out, as developers will have gained more experience with the machine, not forgetting the Dreamcast, of which developers will have even more experience. The PSOne for example, i feel, some of its games have more feel in them than some PC games. Granted, the graphics on the PSOne are extremely dated now, but the gameplay is they key for me. Looks aren't everything, but I think the X-Box is damn ugly! =) Those controllers are pathetic too! With a similar design to the Dreamcast's. The PSOne/PS2 controller is the best ever designed. Not that it matters, but still. The market will be very competitive, but I think the PS2 can handle it.

I personally think the XBox will be the downfall of many of MrGate's millions. People in the know, know. look at the 3DO, and to a lesser extent, the Dreamcast. I won't be buying an Xbox. Microsoft are bringing PC-style gaming to the millions, but console gaming is a different kettle of fish.
