COMPETITION ANNOUNCEMENT:

THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED. A big thank you to those that took time to enter. A winner will be announced soon. Watch this space...

Glad you're still watching! Very sorry for the delay - there were some really good comments and suggestionss. A big thank you to everybody that took part!

The winner is (drum roll...) er-no! Thanks once again for all your valuble work.

Remember to enter all our other great competitions we have running at the moment.

We've made lots of changes to our Product Search facility.

As most of you will remember we had a very successful Gameaday competition on this a few months ago which was won by Meka_Dragon.

Now that most of the suggested changes have been implimented I would like us to do it again.

This one closes on June 7th

The prize will go to the person who finds the MOST VALID PROBLEMS across our WHOLE PRODUCT RANGE in the SEARCH FACILITY.

If you think you should be able to search on "Horror Movies", but nothing comes up, then add it to your list.

If you think people will mis-spell gran turismo, then add that too - but test it first.

Use short lists if possible but multiple posts will count together. i.e. all your posts on this subject will add up and count towards the prize.

I recommend you read the details of our searching process which you can click to from a link at Site Map. Basically we use the start of a word, so a search on "thunder" will find "thunderball". If several words are combined it must find all.

One thing I find REALLY annoying is that you can't review films. Only DVD's. Today I went to see the Mummy Returns and I instantly started composing a review in my mind.

I got home and wrote The Mummy Returns in the search box and only the GameBoy game came up.

Maybe you could add an extra category. "Films" A lot more reviews would be posted and you could hype up the release of the film on DVD by doing this.

Alright this is a little crazy but I decided I'd put it foward anyway.

Why not let users search for users of the site? So, for example, you could type in Time_Warp and you could see various pieces of information.

It probably would be hard to do, but it could be interesting!

You can already do this - AND there is a pull down menu of Actors at UKdvd.com. (See links on left of page, near top under Cool Stuff is a link to UKdvd.com, or there is a white link for "DVD" in the blue stripe under the banner).

Everyone wants to get from anywhere to everywhere else!

This is probably more of an idea than a problem, but I'll post it anyway.

I'm a Bruce Lee fan, and have recently started getting the DVD versions, as they are ten times better than video. Anyway, I am waiting for the latest DVD re-incarnation, 'The Way of the Dragon'. I typed this in and the only thing that came up was 'American Dragon'. This probably meant that it hasn't been confirmed yet or no release date has been set. But surely there are more films with 'Dragon' in the title. Anyway, this gave me an idea. What if you could type in an actor or actress that is in the film, and the search would bring up every film they have been in (that you have in stock). As I said, more of an idea, but I am sure it could help people who collect films with certain actors/actresses in it.

The capitals make you appear to be shouting. A minor problem is when you go to the uk discussions home page you have to go to the list of all forum subjects so if you click on fog on the home page it will take you to every open forum.

I gotta go in a minute so i aint been able to read all your ideas to see if this one has been said!!

Well sometimes when you post a message you like to right in capitals, or a non-swear word is sometimes classified as one, and that message screen pops and says change ya message, the thing is ya dont need to change ya message becasue it has actaully been posted, then you edit and and post it, thinking that this is only one post, but instead you have posted several of the same things, and its kind of annoying, especially when it happened to kid rock in the WWF forum, that what i rekon the biggest problem is... yer?

bye
