Wonders if this has been put up before...
> Plus, gingers are funny.
First thing in this thread to make me smile
This isn't just a couple of people dying in an accident, this is hundreds of thousands of people that will be affected for years.
I have to say I've never laughed at Princess Di/NASA jokes, not my taste.
And I have punched somebody unconcious in a bar for telling a Sept 11th joke.
But that's just me
Like that hundreds of thousands are dead, millions of homeless and orphans plus whatever lies ahead in the future. Whilst the other was one woman who led a good life and died in a car crash.

I laughed at 'the son of God's post in that thread a little way down the page. Because I found it funny.
But if I had the choice, I would trade my little chuckle for it not being there, simply because if a friend of mine had stayed an extra month in Thailand that comment would have been utterly, utterly, shattering.
Let me expand.
It is tasteless to make jokes like this when there are bodies actually washing up on the beach. But in 2 years time just because it isn't plastered all over our TV's does that make it any less tragic?
But hey, I'm not as cool as y'all.
If not then I say sorry, but I doubt it is the case.

Such as jokes about a recently deceased parent? Ginger jokes are surely not as offensive as jokes about the DEATH of people you care about?
> But if this was never to be read by someone who has actually lost

No, it wouldn't. If there was no chance that anyone who lost someone would ever read it, then that would be OK. Actually, I'll clarify that a bit - if there was no chance of anyone who actually THINKS about these things and attempts to COMPREHEND what it must actually feel like to lose an entirely family, village, communiity, if no-one like that could POSSIBLY read it, then it would be OK.
But this is a public forum, not a joke between a few mates.
