I didn't find the joke funny, but I agree with YH on this one, people shade away jokes about disasters thinking they should hide from them etc.

It was a bit of a silly thing to say, in hindsight. I've always rebelled against anything that I perceive people are getting overly lathered up about, like Diana's death or Derren Brown.

I think people do over-react to jokes like this.
