Wonders if this has been put up before...
Let's face it; we all have double-standards about this kind of thing.
We'll act all high-and-mighty about this joke, then go and laugh at something that could be equally offensive to some.
2. However, that doesn't mean this is not offensive. YH is a mong for posting something like that. Had this happened one year later I would have been out there. My girlfriends family has friends travelling out there, and they don't know what has happened to them. A good friend of mine was out there until about a month ago when he moved on to Oz. It's akin to joking about someones dead family, TO THIER FACE. There are people here, in this country, who might be reading this message board, that actually have lost someone.

In this particular case, I'd say when dead people actually weren't still being found where they were thrown by the waves, rotting in the streets? Jokes are just that, jokes, and I have no problem laughing at sick stuff - I'm usually the first to say something offensive in jest - but there's a time and a place, and it ain't just yet, sorry. At least, not for me anyway.
There's no rule about this sort of thing anyway. Some people still get offended about Princess Di jokes.
Hell, maybe I'm just sick.
boom and, quite literally, boom.

So when would there have been enough 'distance'?
When you decide there is?

Never heard that.
Carry on.
