It's all been going wrong here. My 'copy' of premiere has funked up it won't let me use the mpeg 4 codec that i have to use. Now using virtual dub to put them together but this means no fading transitions :( . One of my renders failed twice which means i have to leave it out.
My presentation is a critical review of my project so far. (so far it's looking shoddy) They are going to rip me apart :( i mean yeah the smoke and the lighting rocks but cause of teh transitions i'm screwed. I was on a first for the project so far now this is going to bring me down to like a 2.1 then i just gotta hope the final version gets me another first.
My brain hurts. I have learnt that 3d animation is too unstable to leave to the night before. Theres a lesson there kidds.
If i get the time tomorrow i will post a link to my animation. It's only 30 seconds and it's for a bbc-i channel Spark. Which i happen to do student stuff for.
Well off to finish it all. Had a rant feel abit better head hurts though.

i'm using premiere pro 1.5 i have tried loads of settings. What did you use? what settings? codec?
this could really help :D
i got 2 and a half minutes down to 18 megs at 400*300 resolution and that seemed very reasonable.
Does anyone have any ideas of how i could get this on the net? That way i can just link to it in my website. My website is only 20meg and i'm a student so i refuse to pay for stuff like a big website. :D

From chippxero.tripod.com
Basicly my 3d animation project was put to one side for a few days as i am currently shooting a film. It's called 'Echoes' it's kinda a dark arty film or at least thats the plan.
There will be a new section in the next 3 days called 'films' it will be in there but probably in a small resolution as my space is very limited on here :(
I am rendering one of the new scenes for my 3d animation at the moment and the finished animation will be up Thursday night.
----------------------
I hope you will all give your views on the short film when it's up i will probably start a film topic in here about student films and private productions so as not to mix the 3d animation subject and films

I missed this post as i had a break from the forums for a while. Yeah add me to your list my e-mails in my profile or on my website.
I have just been using particles as most of the students here arn't using them and as most of them are not doing character animation cause they think it's too hard they just have a camera rotating around things or have letters move around. this all makes my animation look great in the eyes of the tutor :D
Yeah bit of a update, my stupid cheap uni won't buy max 7 for me so i am having to make a scene with all my animation effects in max 5 so they can see that i made the project as they can't look at my max 7 files :( this means more work for me, ok it's about 2 hours work but thats not the point it's the effort for me and lack of it by my uni.
I am working on my animation tonight or tomorrow as i have been playing way to much Counterstrike source with people off here and not getting work done. Should do a complete update to my website wednesday at some point.
any chance i can nab your max file to look at over msn or summat??
to be honest i've had no real need to play with particles and stuff and can't be bothered to make a scene to test them.

shows what i know :)
Found out that it was the 'rotate' that was making it move not the wind so i am key framing that.
