OMG it's 4.10am and my animation is still rendering :( i still have to put all my mocies together and add music. Then at 8.20am get up and walk in to uni for a 4 hour lecture in which a very tired me will present my animation.
It's all been going wrong here. My 'copy' of premiere has funked up it won't let me use the mpeg 4 codec that i have to use. Now using virtual dub to put them together but this means no fading transitions :( . One of my renders failed twice which means i have to leave it out.
My presentation is a critical review of my project so far. (so far it's looking shoddy) They are going to rip me apart :( i mean yeah the smoke and the lighting rocks but cause of teh transitions i'm screwed. I was on a first for the project so far now this is going to bring me down to like a 2.1 then i just gotta hope the final version gets me another first.
My brain hurts. I have learnt that 3d animation is too unstable to leave to the night before. Theres a lesson there kidds.
If i get the time tomorrow i will post a link to my animation. It's only 30 seconds and it's for a bbc-i channel Spark. Which i happen to do student stuff for.
Well off to finish it all. Had a rant feel abit better head hurts though.

yeah, a friend of mine runs a small hosting business and is giving me 500 megs of space for £30 a year, proper domain (no redirects!) mailboxes, spamfilter, the works... plus if there's a problem you can actually get hold of him easily.. which is a nice change from firevision.

Yeah will proably put a compressed on up there. Are you paying for your site? I just noticed i haven't updated my site in over a week which is quite strange. Need to get more work done for it and maybe a modelling of it.

But doing i the hard way sometimes gives some good results plus i am still pretty new to everythng max can do, like when i played with reactor i didn't have a clue it did all that stuff.
Plugins = Good if time is short or something is too hard.
Tarting around = Good if random results work out and time is plentyful (spelling?).

don't fear plugins m'man, they just put functionality at your fingretips instead of having to do things the ludicrously hard way. no point making more work for yourself :)
I'm not sure about any of them to be honest i just got them all then moved to max 7 and alot of them are for max 6 so not supported.
I have never used a plugin for anything i have done i jsut have them incase i fail to achive the effect i need through working it out myself.
I saw my housemate use shaghair before, it looked ok. but maya is much better that it as far as i know. if i was going to have hair in something i would find my copy of maya and try it in that.

is the shaghair plugin any good?
i've played with Maya's hair tools and it's pretty good, but i'm more comfortable with MAX. does shaghair support being affected by space warps?
