I realise that some people on this forum (including myself) are planning to go to university next year, and I figured it'd be nice to see who was going and how far they have got with their UCAS application.

I received my confirmation letter from UCAS the other day to say they have received my application, all I can do now is wait..

The university's/courses I have applied for are

University of Lincoln: Games Computing
University of Lincoln: Computing
Sheffield Hallam: Software Development (Games) - Offer - not for this course, however
Northumbira University: Computer Games Software Engineering - Offer
Nottingham Trent University: Computer Science (Games Technology) - Offer

I have received 3 offers so far.

What universitys have you applied for? Had any offers/Rejections yet?

University Of Glasgow - Law
University Of Edinburgh - Law
University Of Strathclyde - Law
University Of Edinburgh - Law And Economics

I really don't have a clue what to use my other two options for, as there are no other Unis I'd even consider going to, and no courses that interest me, except possibly Economics
I wanted to apply for Law And Finance at Glasgow, but they've stopped offering it.

Yeah, Biochemistry is probably the best degree to have done if you're going to apply for medicine as a postgraduate.

Hmm, you're all too clever for my liking. You're all off to top Unis.

My choices are:

University of Kingston - Creative Writing and English Literature

University College Chichester - English and Creative Writing

University of Kent - English Literature and Creative Writing

University of Essex - Creative Writing

University of East Anglia - English and American Literature and Creative Writing

University of Portsmouth - Creative Writing and English Literature

I'm basically hoping for an offer from the first 2, for many reasons. One, my AS Levels were Cs apart from an A in General Studies and therefore it's unlikely I'll make the grade for Kent, Essex and UEA...AND, perhaps more importantly, I much prefer the courses at Kingston and Chichester. Kingston has also recently been in Times Top 5 Unis of the Year.

Just printed it off today, ready to hand in to school.

Intriguing.

I know some people who are taking the exact same path as you, they want to be doctors, but are a applying for Biochemistry as their backup route. Quite scary really, proves that Medicine is incredibly hard to access.

Yes. Biochem is my back up if I don't get into medicine, and the offer from Essex is already redundant.

Medicine at UEA is new since 3 years ago, so no one has graduated from it yet. But the facilities are (obviously) top notch and the student hospital is 5 minutes walk away. And it seems like a nice quiet area.

Good idea for a thread mate.

I'll be applying to:

Chester
Edge Hill
UCLAN
Bournemouth
Sheffield
Staffordshire

to study Journalism, or in the case of Bournemouth "Multimedia Journalism"

I've had to leave it later so I can include my work experience which I completed this week.
