I went into my local GAME yesterday and to my amazement the Gamecube shelf space has shrunk even smaller. It really was a pitiful sight and quite embarrassing for a die hard Nintendo fan.
The shelf space is now just one block. There were the usual top five slots which were virtually empty and then the 'selection' of naff games underneath. Now yes I suppose you could look at it 2 ways, either they've all sold out (which is laughably unlikely) or that GAME just can't be ars*d with the Gamecube anymore (which I KNOW is whats happening).
Woollies now have hardly any Gamecube stuff. Dixons, Currys, Comet and all those electrical retailers stopped selling it months ago and it looks like even GAME are now on the 'dump Cube' runaway train.
3 years into the life of the N64 was better than this and that was considered a commercial flop.

Okay Resident Evil 4 will cause a massive sales burst in the next few weeks in the Uk.
Oh wait.. not it won't.
What's the point in argueing this at all??? Gamecube is not selling well in UK. And??? Who cares??? Does it stop consoles being made??? No. Is it stopping anything??? not really???
Nintendo are in profit, games are coming out all the time, Nintendo aren't going under. In fact Sony are suffering the most at the moment as they've reported a few losses for their PS2.
Nothing's going to happen. We've been here before so many times.
It's annoying now.

I'm talking about THIS YEAR. The DS, GBA SP and Gamecube sales are bigger than Sony's.

Yeah they are.

But Nintendo aren't Sony, this is how they do things.

Pokemon still sells millions, GBA SP sold triple that of the GBC.

Worlwide, possibly. Not in Japan and not in America.

No they made a half year loss, the entire year they made a profit.

Yawn, heard this before.

Idiot. Why do you care about the GAmecube sales if Nintendo are doing well???

GAME, Gamestation, Woolworths, Game Tron, Special Reserve, all websites, HMV, Virgin, CEX and all independant game shops.
Nintendo, unlike SEGA, not only make a profit but have a lot of money.
Of course you knew that.
Where have all the Cubes gone?, is a good question what you really want to be saying is will there be a successor if so who is gonna sell it?
RIP Cube

Spot on. The N64 being cart based was a shock to me - especially after PS1 was already out using CD-ROM. And the N64 could have been so much more, if it had CD-ROM. Cheaper to make games - you can press disc's, loads in one hit. CD printing is a standard "template" in design houses, no need to re-jig filmwork, templates, or cutting systems. Plus, you can automate a large run - from disc pressing to print, to packaging. Carts have to be "put together" - much more tricky. And look, here is the GameCube, and it doesnt use standard size discs - oooppps - they made the same mistake again!

Stop going on about America and Japan, in those places the Gamecube is doing fine.
It's the UK we are talking about.
