I have read millions and millions of World War 2 books, and wanted to address the Topic could Germany have beaten us. After careful reading and consideration, it would have been possible for Germany to defeat Europe, more so in the early stages of WW2. Britian was able to be attacked from several angles... From Norway, France, Belgium & Holland, which would place Wehrmacht troops in numerous possible places across the North-East, East, South-East and South Coast. I believe that if the Germans launched a simutantious attack from opposite ends of the UK (one from Norway, & One from France) there would be not enough of the RAF to fend off an attack, and therefore Germany could have secured a beachead on British soil... and seeing that it was at an early stage of the War, Britain would not have had sufficient troops, and weaponary to repel it, seeing after a hulimating defeat for us at Dunkirk.

Even towards the end of World War 2, it came very very close for Germany winning the war. The Germans were developing a new edition to the V2 rocket, enivatibly the Atomic Bomb. But was destroyed by the RAF, but was not known that until the end of the War that Hitler was developing an atomic weapon and a hell of alot closer of launching the Atomic Bomb, than we were. If he was successful, the first target would have either been New York or a Soviet City which would have sent the Americans and Soviets to withdraw, and Hitler to take over Britain.

Any comments on this thoughts. Hitler really wanted to make peace with Britain, and us to Join the NAZI's due to the fact that Britain being an Island, Hitler admired Britian as we were the clostest thing to a European white aryan race, because not to many people immigrated to Britain?

Even landing on Britian would have caused a massive mental blow.

And London was pretty near. Scotland would have been the last to fall.

Trouble was, they didn't get rid of the RAF, and then they invaded Russia.

Fin.

Germany could have launched an attack from both Norway. Alot of the Kriegsmarine was stationed there, such as the Bismarck & Tirpitz, which certainly made our old British destroyers look bad, seeing the HMS Hood was sunk within 8minutes after engaging the Bismarck. Amphibous assualts would have been possible from the North, seeing that the far superior Kriegsmarine could have easily over-run the Royal Navy, thus setting up Fallshimjager and Panzer troops to secure positions.

In the south, Luffwaffer, could fly in Fallshimjager into Hive or Either side of dover, to secure ports and thus enabling large masses of Panzer, Waffen SS to fight troops.

One possibility how they could have launched a simulatious attack RoJ

Sorry. It's twenty to ten and I can't be bothered to get into a sensible debate.

Should've told the Italians and Japs to stay quiet, narked Britain and France, and then let the Italians and Japanese go. Although of course, I highly doubt the Japanese cared one jot what the Germans did. But it got the USA involved. Barbarossa was a cataclysm.

Hitler also admired the old British Empire since it pretty much resembled his ideals. First concentration camps were British.

That is a really crappy comment to say JFH! Some people dont fully realise how close we came to being distroyed and having our freedoms taken away... and what people sacrificed for us upon the alter of freedom. Just wanted to get a debate going on about WW2.

Er, rewrite that last paragraph, it doesn't quite make sense.
Anyway, it would have been hard to lauch two simueltaneous attacks. Hitler should never have went to war with Russia in the first place, he should have learned from Napoleon. Hitler could have invaded Ireland as either a foothold to Britain or as a decoy tactic while he invaded the rest. I'd say the defeat of Britain was very possible.
