I have read millions and millions of World War 2 books, and wanted to address the Topic could Germany have beaten us. After careful reading and consideration, it would have been possible for Germany to defeat Europe, more so in the early stages of WW2. Britian was able to be attacked from several angles... From Norway, France, Belgium & Holland, which would place Wehrmacht troops in numerous possible places across the North-East, East, South-East and South Coast. I believe that if the Germans launched a simutantious attack from opposite ends of the UK (one from Norway, & One from France) there would be not enough of the RAF to fend off an attack, and therefore Germany could have secured a beachead on British soil... and seeing that it was at an early stage of the War, Britain would not have had sufficient troops, and weaponary to repel it, seeing after a hulimating defeat for us at Dunkirk.

Even towards the end of World War 2, it came very very close for Germany winning the war. The Germans were developing a new edition to the V2 rocket, enivatibly the Atomic Bomb. But was destroyed by the RAF, but was not known that until the end of the War that Hitler was developing an atomic weapon and a hell of alot closer of launching the Atomic Bomb, than we were. If he was successful, the first target would have either been New York or a Soviet City which would have sent the Americans and Soviets to withdraw, and Hitler to take over Britain.

Any comments on this thoughts. Hitler really wanted to make peace with Britain, and us to Join the NAZI's due to the fact that Britain being an Island, Hitler admired Britian as we were the clostest thing to a European white aryan race, because not to many people immigrated to Britain?

In WW1 Russian soilders were fighting with bits of wood against machine guns.

In WW2 they were sharing guns... would be pretty crap.

Stalin permitted the Ukrain Starvation and was supposedly responsible for 20-30 million deaths. Hitler was half that number! both are tryants, proved that living in the WW2 was just crap, and it was the time of the dictators to go.

Yet howcomes people still portray Hitler as the worlds most evil tryant, which is closly now going to Osama Bin Laden, yet not many people pay attention to the fact that stalin over his Reign done more damage.

I am neither a communist or a facist, yet communism seems to me to be a far greater tool of oppression that facism. Both are as bad as each other and should never been allowed to exists.

Of course he was, he killed more than 12 million of his own poeple in his own version of the holocaust, twice the amount that Hitler and his cronies murdered.

Well Stalin did do the most worst imaginable possible thing he could have done, espically just before WW2. He killed like 90% of all his Red Army Generals, Majors, Captains or people who are inspiring leaders, due to the fact that Stalin was a parinoid pratt, so at the time when Germany invaded, Russia had lack of experienced and good class leaders to inspire the men to fight to their full potential, and they never ever got over this, decent leadership was a problem that the Red Army faced. And even after WW2 Stalin killed Soviet Soldiers that were captured by the German Army, or were very skilled and decent leaders, as they "apparently threatening to their regeme". In my opinion Stalin was just as bad as Hitler himself

Aye but Russia had never really sorted itself out since the Tsar was in power and the 1917 Revolution. It was too large to govern properly and manage by one man, especially one like Stalin.

20,000,000 people of the USSR died in WW2. They still beat the Germans.

but at a very high price Cyclon, nearly said that 6million soviets, Civilian & Red Army died... if they were more prepared at first, I recon that the Soviet causalties would have been around our own, i.e. 750,000.. but it is just speculation

The Russian Winter sorted out the Germans, as they had very little warm clothing made to withstand freezing cold temeratures. The large amounts of rain broke down the transport networks as the dirt tracks were turned to mud, and so troops couldn't get supplies or reinforcements.

Russia was unbeatable. Seriously - at the start, they just gave way. And it didn't matter one jot about not being mobilised. They were the USSR, they could do anything they wanted to to get their country back. And they did.

About this Russia topic..... I believe that Russia didn't pose a really big threat to Germany.. It wasn't until the Germany army was literatly knocking on Stalins door at Leningrad and Stalingrad did the Russians properly mobilise, and started making like 11 T-10's to 1 German Tiger.

Either Germany should have stuck to one objective before moving on to another... they should have either committed all resources and taken out the Red Army before they mobilised then moved on to Britian.... But by then Pearl Harbour would have happened and USA would have got involved, and the France/ Atlantic wall would have been poorly prepared, hence bringing the war to a quicker end.
