"The NHS stop smoking advert"

I was just watching TV and saw the NHS stop smoking advert with that guy who's last wish was to see his daughter on december 13th or something and every time I see it, it makes me feel really uneasy. It's even worse listening to it on the radio. Thing is though, people who are smoking won't smoke because of it and people who want to smoke won't be put off by it.

This is just my opinion but I don't think they should show it. It's upsetting to watch and hear and it will have no effect on smokers

you MUST be joking. there are loads of people on here (and indeed most other forums) who use the screen as a portal to post cretinous and outdated opinions.

just becasue they're only written words, doesn't mean they can't be offensive, insesnsitive or plain insulting.

because i see it as the kind of thing that takes guts to say in ANY place, be it on here or in real life.

I never noticed they were ventilated

what happened to smoking rooms anyway?

Because the smoking areas are normally ventilated in some way to encourage the smoke out of the building.

No! the majority aren't!

What I don't understand is why they have a smoking and a non-smoking space in cafés and resteraunts. Smoke travels right?! so why have two seperate areas when the effect is just the same?!

sometimes when I've had a good night on the ol' cigs, and I'm on my bedroom floor staring up at the ceiling, gasping for breath, I can't help but think that it's all worth while.
