Its nearly that time again! The season for us lot kicks off next weekend, after, for me, what seemed like a long summer, and i for one cant wait for the season to start.
As always, i have my season ticket and im pretty confident of what The Owls can achieve this season, im just hoping this season can be the one where the rot stops, and we gain promotion. We have a whole new team almost. We released 15 players last season, and signed 11 this, including ex Southampton captain Chrissy Marsden, and then a squad of good young players who all look the part to go with him
We have 2 friendlies left against the Bolton and Everton, and in our previous friendlies we have looked good.
I know there are a number of you lot who support teams in the lower leagues, so lets not let this forum be over run by Premiership talk and such. After all, our clubs are just as important as the bigger clubs.
So what are your hopes and fears for the new season? Who you looking forward to playing the most?
Up the Owls!!
--------------------------------------------
The Owls are goin' up!!! The Owls are goin' up!!! The Owls are goin' up!!!
And yes, it's away. We're at Gillingham, then we're away next weekend as well.
I look forward to the next home game on the 21st which is Leeds vs Nottingham Forest or, in SR terms, mattributé vs Forest Fan.
Come on the mattributé.
And who have the mighty City got? I'm still surprised that Hartlepool managed to overturn a 1-0 deficit against you.
If only you still had sicknote...
EDIT: Is sick note (Cadamatri) injured again at the moment 'cause he wasn't on the team sheet on Saturday.
I'll be listening to Super Leeds on the radio, then. Hopefully Ricketts will be able to pull off a better peformance than the uninspired run out he had against Derby. And Joachim should be able to take advantages of a couple of runs this time. I hope.
It hasn't stopped pouring it down all morning here, the City game may be called off. What's it like every where else?
I know extremely little about most Division 1 teams, and Gillingham fall into the category of 'unknown', so I am a little bit anxious about the match tonight.
One thing is for sure, though - if Leeds play like they did against Derby or even improve upon that hen I'm sure we'll get something from the match.
What a difference 90 minutes can make. Before Derby I was sure we'd be in the lower half of the league, now... now I almost feel as if we can make the playoffs if we keep performance up.
Prepare for me to come on later, distraught after Danny Pugh scores and own goal to lose us the match.
Adieu.
I'm looking forward to being a spectator in the Premiership this season, rather than having to give a damn if Chelsea don't beat Man City...
If they are largerly the same team that we played, i dont think they will cause too much of a threat.
