For starters, let me say i hate this new way to name the leagues. Calling them Division 1, 2 and 3 made alot more sense. None the less...

Its nearly that time again! The season for us lot kicks off next weekend, after, for me, what seemed like a long summer, and i for one cant wait for the season to start.

As always, i have my season ticket and im pretty confident of what The Owls can achieve this season, im just hoping this season can be the one where the rot stops, and we gain promotion. We have a whole new team almost. We released 15 players last season, and signed 11 this, including ex Southampton captain Chrissy Marsden, and then a squad of good young players who all look the part to go with him

We have 2 friendlies left against the Bolton and Everton, and in our previous friendlies we have looked good.

I know there are a number of you lot who support teams in the lower leagues, so lets not let this forum be over run by Premiership talk and such. After all, our clubs are just as important as the bigger clubs.

So what are your hopes and fears for the new season? Who you looking forward to playing the most?

Up the Owls!!

In the main i would agree with you there. The people who leave when were 4 or 5 nill up are crazy. However yesterday wasnt my decision, my brother practically stormed out after the third goal, can't blame him, that's his first game in 4 years and were still playing the same long ball tripe we were then. Progress? Pffffft.

Not a bad day for the Chairboys. We didn't expect to win at Northampton, and so going ahead was a bonus.

1-1 is a fair result.

Shame about Boro. :c(

Quinty, is there any way I can get a Boro shirt (with 15 on the back) without having to go to the club shop? :c\

I have sooooooo gotta get Wycombe's new away shirt and Boro's new home shirt.

Wycombe are 3rd...YAY!

If there's one thing I can't stand its people who leave before a game finishes, really. I've only done this once, and that was away to Morecambe on a freezing cold Saturday when we were 0 - 0 at half time after missing a penalty, then having five belted past us in 20 minutes of the second half. Left just as the stoppage time board went up.

Anyway, sounds like an unlucky day for you as it was for us. I didn't go in the end (a loooooong trip to Scarborough) but seriously considered it. We got two uncertain penalties given against us, and lost 2 - 0, also missing 5/6 decent players - we had reserves lining up on the bench.

Got a tough game Tuesday too, against Exeter at home, then I'm off for a few days, then back for Saturday to see us slaughter Leigh. Then we have Daggers too, which doesn't sound an easy job.

Anyway, I wish Satanage good luck for Tuesday if anything, anything to topple "The Shots".

Bwahahahaha!!

Yep.

Lost 3-1 and were outplayed by a physical Daggers side.

0-0 at half-time, everything going okay then disaster strikes - keeper gets injured and we DONT have a SUB keeper, meaning we stick a central midfielder in goal (Hanlon). First touch, whacked against Daggers striker deflects into goal- 1-0, second touch gets a dodgy backpass and loses race against striker - 2-0, third touch, picks the ball out of net after decent Daggers move - 3-0. Shame really as we had 400-500 fans who made the trip which is a bit more than we usually get - probably put them off for life now....

....Elding heads it in for a consolation - 3-1 but i'm already up the M11 by now and halfway home.

Bring on Aldershot on tuesday!!

BRADFORD CITY 2 - 0 DONCASTER ROVERS

Well for the first time in God knows how long I have walked away from the stadium with a smile on my face. Also for the first time in ages the ref was a 'homer' giving more things to us.

We played well in the first half and scored two from corners (which we don't normally do) with Bower with the first (also Man of the Match, plus both centre backs have already score this season) and Crook a new big lad in midfield.

Second half we seemed to sit back and they had position but didn't do any thing with it. They seemed to be taking long shots all of the time and not bringing it in to the box where they had more of a chance to score.

What rubbed it in, near the end, was that our guy on the wing was on a run and their guy slid in from behind and took our guy out, who just got straight back up, and their guy got sent off!

Well I was very pleased with that, we scored two goals and managed to keep a clean sheet (with a different Aussie keeper we have signed on) and also our loan signing Adiboa (a striker from Derby) played well holding the ball up and had a couple of good chances (he had also just met his strike partner (Windass) half an hour before the game as we have hardly had him). 4 points out of a possible 9 is alright and we are 9th in the table.

Stockport away on Saturday and then Notts County at home on the Wednesday in the Carling Cup.

C'MON CITY!!!

:D

Torquay 2-4 Owls

:D

Had to listen to it on the radio, seems we didnt play our best, so to have still scored 4 goals is very pleasing. I'll look to see the goals on sky later, but as for now, im going to keep smiling!
