I only know about him because I am a huge F1 fan. The best F1 drivers ever, in my opinion, are listed below.

1- Juan Manuel Fangio
2- Jim Clark
3- Ayrton Senna
4- Alberto Ascari
5- Michael Schumacher
6- Stirling Moss
7- Jackie Stewart
8- Jack Brabham
9- Alain Prost
10- Niki Lauda

Schumacher is a great. However he is not the best driver ever, That is hard for me to say that as im a HUGE schumacher fan!

I do agree with the comment that Juan Manuel Fangio was the greatest Even though i feel Sir Stirling Moss should be up there aswell. Even though he never won the F1 title!
Just look at the cars they had to drive! They were proper racing cars. The F1 of old used to be about the drivers. Now its more the technological side what win races. However the drivers do help!
People have said what if Fangio and Schumacher raced head to head. Who would win. That my friend is impossible to say! As they are worlds apart plus Fangio would not know how to drive a modern day F1 car neither would schumacher to its potential. So its unfair to class them like that

However when Schumacher retires (I must point out i hope its NOT soon) He will remain one of the greats for years to come.

I wasn't privileged to see Fangio drive but without doubt he is one of the best, if not the best. If I was to pick from the drivers I've seen, it would have to be Ayrton Senna. A true motor racing legend.
